We are seeking a technically competent and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with 5-10 years of relevant experience to join us as a SPIR Technical Coordinator (Product Support Documentation Engineer). This position plays a key role in preparing Spare Parts Interchangeability Record (SPIR) documents, working in close collaboration with engineering, procurement, vendors, and the Aftermarket team. The role involves managing spare parts data, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of accurate documentation to meet project and customer requirements. Candidates with a strong background in technical documentation, spare parts coordination, or aftermarket support within capital equipment or heavy engineering industries will be ideally suited for this role. This position reports to the DGM Project - Flares and is responsible for producing SPIR documents as a key project deliverable in consultation with global Zeeco locations.
Spare Parts Documentation & Coordination:
- Review and consolidate spare parts recommendations from sub-vendors and proprietary suppliers.
- Compile and validate SPIR documents, ensuring they meet project specifications and contractual obligations.
- Analyze part criticality and applicability across systems or subsystems.
Pricing & Cost Compilation:
- Prepare accurate pricing for recommended spare parts in line with internal policies and commercial requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement to validate costs and supplier data.
Vendor & Stakeholder Interaction:
- Follow up with suppliers (valves, instruments, blowers, etc.) for timely submission of SPIR-related technical and pricing information.
- Liaise with capital project teams and purchasing to ensure seamless information flow between customers, vendors, and the Aftermarket function.
Technical Collaboration & Support:
- Work alongside Service Engineers to incorporate field-level insights into SPIR documentation.
- Support Project Engineers with tasks such as progress reporting, operating manual compilation, CRS preparation, SAGE inputs, and invoicing abstracts.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Management:
- Maintain standardized SPIR templates on a globally accessible shared platform.
- Contribute to proposals highlighting the criticality of key parts and their impact on system performance in case of failure.
- Support initiatives to improve efficiency and consistency in SPIR generation across projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in spare parts coordination, technical documentation, or aftermarket support in engineering/project-based industries (e.g., EPC, capital equipment, heavy engineering).
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, sub-vendor documentation, and equipment lifecycle.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; attention to detail is a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation/data management tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and engaging with external vendors.
