About us:

Our FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) team is the leading, largest and only dedicated FDI / International tax practice of its kind in Ireland.  We work with international companies across all sectors investing in Ireland, helping them deal with a wide range of Irish and international tax matters. We are a team of 9 Partners and over 100 professionals who work with a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to many of the world’s largest multinational companies. We work with companies operating in a wide variety of sectors including technology, internet and media, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, retail and consumer, and manufacturing.
 

What does this role offer?

 

While we are the leading and largest FDI / international tax practice in Ireland, we have a very collegiate, open, informal and fun way of working together.  Our “1FDI” model provides all our people at all levels the opportunity to work on a broad range of clients across many sectors with all members across our FDI team.  We also team on a daily basis with our colleagues across other specialist groups in Tax and xLoS.

Given the international nature of our clients and Ireland’s leading position as an FDI / investment hub for international groups, we work with a diverse group of stakeholders.  This includes our international network of PwC colleagues (throughout the Americas, Europe and increasingly AsiaPac), government bodies such as IDA Ireland, Department of Finance, Irish Revenue, and client contacts based at their international/HQ locations as well as locally in Ireland. We also provide opportunities for our FDI team for secondments to our Irish clients and to our PwC US offices. 

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

 

About you – Key skills and competencies

  • At least 3 years relevant tax experience, in practice or industry

  • AITI/CTA part/qualified or an ambition become tax qualified with a strong academic record.

  • Enthusiasm to work with our broad range of FDI international clients, to understand their businesses and work with them to address and manage risk.

  • Desire to learn and to apply the knowledge you gain from the regular training sessions we hold on topics that will impact our clients’ businesses. 

  • Business Acumen - use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making innovative business decisions.

  • Relationship management - ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.

  • Creative - demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Enthusiastic team player with a passion to coach and encourage others to achieve their potential.

  • Ambitious – demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development.
