Job Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Nissan, you will be responsible for regional project development, including new construction, remodeling, and renovation of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Your duties will include preliminary surveys, drawing preparation, scope of work, contractor sourcing, and project closeout. You will lead electrical projects for the U.S. and Canada, encompassing power systems, lighting, and control systems. You will also update and maintain electrical drawings and develop safety procedures. This role requires on-site work in Smyrna, TN.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years of related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution and related systems.
Good to have:
  • 10+ years of experience and PE License preferred.

We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Smyrna, TN.


A Day in the Life:   
• Responsible for regional project development in assigned areas consisting of new construction, remodel, or renovation of buildings, facilities, and equipment.  Duties to include, but not limited to: preliminary surveys, drawing preparation, scope of work, contractor sourcing / pre-bid meetings, project folder preparation, construction document reviews to ensure adherence to IBC, NEC, NFPA, project initiation, and project closeout.

• Leads regional electrical projects for the U.S. and Canada to include electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and control systems, and facility design. 

• Updates and maintains electrical, schematic, and mechanical drawings for new and modified infrastructure in assigned areas; develops electrical safety procedures.

• Provides electrical power distribution system problem solving; ensures continuous reliability and uptime improvement, accuracy and ease of use enhancements, analysis of trends and symptoms, and identification of missing or misleading information in assigned areas.


Who We’re Looking for:      
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited four year program required.

• Minimum 5 years of related experience at a professional level required.  10+ years and PE License preferred.

• Ability to develop conceptual level designs and cost estimates for future model/project studies.

Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution (Low, Medium, and High-Voltage), Lighting Design and Controls, Fire Alarm, HVAC, Access Controls, Video Surveillance, Generators, Security, Fire Alarm, Automation, and Computer and Data Systems.

• Ability to perform work onsite in Smyrna, TN.

Occasional day or overnight travel. Must be willing to travel internationally to support the development of the major projects or facilities related business.  Expected travel could be up to 25%.
