Job Description

Belka Games, a leading mobile game developer with over 110 million players, is seeking a Senior Location Level Designer. The role involves designing unique and interesting levels, building expedition maps with attention to routes, tiles, hidden areas, interactives, and quests, and balancing pace and difficulty. The designer will also prepare documentation and configure expeditions and events, collaborating closely with developers, artists, and narrative designers. This position requires a strong understanding of game balance and content consumption speed, proficiency in Unity Editor, Git, Google Sheets, Figma/Miro, and Confluence, along with intermediate English skills.

We're looking for a Senior Location Level Designer with extensive experience developing farming games and other projects with exploration mechanics.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design unique and interesting levels that adhere to the game's overall concept and style
  • Build expedition maps (routes, tiles, hidden areas, interactives, quests, balance pace/difficulty, and dress scenes visually)
  • Prepare documentation and configure expeditions and events
  • Work closely with other specialists (developers, artists, and narrative designers) 

What we need from you:

  • 2+ years of experience designing levels for expedition-based games or similar
  • Proven experience in creative level design and a strong grasp of fundamental composition concepts
  • Experience adjusting game balance and managing content consumption speed
  • Confident with Unity Editor and tools like: Git, Google Sheets, Figma/Miro, Confluence
  • Profound understanding of games that feature expedition-based mechanics
  • Intermediate English (B1) or higher

  • Familiarity with quest and event systems, including ScriptableObject, Timeline, and Visual Scripting
  • Comprehensive understanding of CI-based build and content delivery processes

The recruitment process will consist of three phases: an interview with our Recruiter, a test assignment, and a technical interview with the Team Lead.
