Job Description

Climax Studios, established nearly 30 years ago, is seeking an experienced Level Designer for a 3-month Fixed Task Contract on a AAA project. The role involves addressing client feedback, collaborating with design and art teams, making geometry and scripting changes, improving combat encounters, bug fixing, and polishing existing levels. Candidates should have proven level design skills, console title experience, and proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 and Blue Scripting.

Good To Have:

Level design experience for third person action games

Must Have:

Experience working as a Level Designer on at least one published console title
Experience of helping to plan and schedule workflows
A strong grasp of level flow, metrics & pacing
A good visual eye for scene setting, sight lines, vistas and areas of interest
Proven experience working within Unreal Engine 5, as well as with Blue Scripting
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a creative and multidisciplinary team
Addressing client feedback within existing levels
Working closely with an existing Level Design and Art team
Geometry changes where required
Improvements to combat encounters where needed
Level Scripting changes/improvements
Bug Fixing
Polish to exiting levels

We are seeking an experienced Level Designer for a 3 month Fixed Task Contract, with proven level design skills & experience working on Console titles, to join our award-winning team. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of passionate and experienced designers on a AAA project.

Requirements

Experience working as a Level Designer on at least one published console title.
Experience of helping to plan and schedule workflows.
A strong grasp of level flow, metrics & pacing.
A good visual eye for scene setting, sight lines, vistas and areas of interest.
Proven experience working within Unreal Engine 5, as well as with Blue Scripting.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a creative and multidisciplinary team.
Level design experience for third person action games is a benefit.
Enjoys a creative challenge with the passion and motivation to make great games
