LegalZoom, a leader in online legal services, seeks a Senior Product Manager for SMB Compliance. This remote role, based in LA or Austin, focuses on expanding recurring compliance services for small businesses and nonprofits. The goal is to improve customer retention through meaningful engagement and new acquisition by enhancing product offerings. The ideal candidate is a cross-functional, data-driven leader deeply connected to customer needs, aiming to deliver relevant and timely solutions.

This position is a remote role though must be located in the LA Metropolitan or Austin Area for collaboration opportunities.

Overview

This role is focused on the compliance of small businesses. Our customers are signing up for a recurring service to keep them compliant with their businesses and nonprofits and your goal is to deliver on that promise. These are subscriptions that customers purchase when starting or running their business. Your role will be to expand the current offerings of the products we have, deliver more for the current customers, and understand the key compliance moments so LegalZoom and partner products are relevant and timely to those customer needs.

The goals for this role will be focused on retention, with meaningful engagement as a leading indicator as well as new acquisition by expanding what the product can do. This is a high growth area of the LegalZoom business and we need a cross functional leader to rally the team, be data driven and deeply grounded in the customer problem.

You will

  • Take a hands-on approach to leadership of your projects. You’ll own planning and end-to-end execution of features/programs, working with cross functional partners. You’ll define the roadmap and inspire the team to execute.
  • Focus on improving customer satisfaction, and by doing so, you’ll also enable a long-term relationship with LegalZoom beyond the point of formation.
  • Be intimately connected with, and a champion for, our customers.
  • Possess a learn fast, fail fast mindset – identify, then focus on the key opportunities. You’ll understand risk, and recognize when to ship fast and iterate from there.
  • Leverage data and insights to drive quality customer experiences and business outcomes.
  • Understand your funnel and be able to diagnose problems and lead brainstorming sessions for solutions

You have

  • 5+ years of product management experience at a tech company, ideally in subscription products at small business or consumer companies.
  • Meaningfully grown a product in a thoughtful, strategic way, including understanding retention of the product and go to market moments.
  • Proven ability to define customer needs through interviews and data, and translate those insights into measurable product improvements
  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret the data in-context and model changes. You make the recommendation and you act on it, with proven experience utilizing metrics & insights as tools for informed decision-making.
  • Outstanding storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style as you work with others up, down, and alongside you in the organization
  • A bias toward action and a track record of delivering value quickly, then improving through feedback and insight

LegalZoom is a remote-first company and the national range for this role is ($125,200-$166,900). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
