The role involves implementing UI designs using UMG within an internal UI framework, collaborating with designers and programmers to achieve the desired look, reviewing prototypes and suggesting improvements, understanding UI/UX needs for optimal player experience, and fixing bugs and optimizing performance. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, excellent skills in Unreal Engine and its UI systems, proficiency in visual scripting languages like Blueprint, a solid understanding of Unreal Materials, and familiarity with design software like Figma or XD.
Must have:
- Implement designs in UMG using the UI framework.
- Work closely with UI designers and programmers.
- Review design prototypes and suggest improvements.
- Understand UI/UX needs for player experience.
- Fix bugs and help with optimization.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Unreal Engine and UI systems.
- Experience with visual scripting languages like Blueprint.
- Good understanding of Unreal Materials.
- Confident with Figma, XD or other design software.
Good to have:
- Modding experience is a bonus

Job Details
Our client is growing their team to work on their first title and are looking for an experienced Senior Technical UI Designer to join them. Their next game is a tactical RPG and they are aiming to create an unforgettable experience for the players.
Role responsibilities:
- Implement the designs in UMG, with the help of our internal UI framework at different levels of fidelity
- Work closely with UI designers, game designers, gameplay and UI programmers to achieve a final look
- Review design prototypes and suggest improvements
- Understanding the UI/UX needs to support the best experience for the player
- Fix bugs and help with optimization efforts
Skills and knowledge:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Very good experience working with Unreal, and its UI systems is essential
- Very good experience with visual scripting languages like Blueprint or similar
- Good understanding of Unreal Materials
- Confident with Figma, XD or other design software
- Relevant bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- Good communicator and collaborator
- Enjoys playing RPGs, openworld games and multiplayer games
- Modding experience is a bonus
