The Services Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting of network solutions. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to provide essential services for the success of the professional services organization. Responsibilities include configuring and deploying Adtran products, implementing network designs, supporting software deployments, developing system designs and documentation, communicating technical concepts, collaborating with project managers, and continuously enhancing technical expertise. The role requires a strong understanding of networking concepts, proficiency in server administration, and excellent communication skills.
Must have:
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and IP networks.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Experience in scripting with Python, Perl, Rexx, or Ruby is a plus.

Position Overview: Adtran Services is seeking a dynamic and motivated engineer passionate about delivering seamless implementations of networking solutions. The Services Engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting of network solutions. The ideal candidate will have the versatility and expertise to provide services essential to the success of our professional services organization. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Configure and deploy Adtran products with minimal supervision.
  • Implement network designs and configure related equipment and systems.
  • Support software deployments, upgrades, and customer success initiatives.
  • Develop detailed system/engineering designs and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation prior to deployments.
  • Document and diagram networks, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure the success of customer network implementations.
  • Continuously enhance technical expertise through company training, independent research, lab testing, and industry certifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and IP networks.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
  • Experience in scripting with Python, Perl, Rexx, or Ruby is a plus.
Work Requirements & Travel:
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% and maintain flexible work hours.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test as required by state regulations.
