Job Description

Yahoo is seeking a Sr Analyst to join the Commerce Business Operations and Strategy team. This candidate must have relevant experience with affiliate commerce, revenue forecasting and data analysis. As a Sr Analyst, you will work closely with the Director and Senior Director of Commerce Strategy & Operations to provide a wide-range of strategic recommendations through complex and thorough analysis. You must be a self-starter who enjoys branching out to different parts of our business to gain insights and data necessary to understand performance drivers. You’ll also be comfortable preparing and presenting materials for various audiences including Commerce leadership and monitoring webpage performance for growing brands/publishers.
Must Have:
  • Develop a complete understanding of engagement funnels and drivers of success for a variety of affiliate Commerce business models, and comprehend new initiatives quickly.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and monitor business impact.
  • Define and track key success metrics, understanding how they can be incorporated into strategies to positively impact performance.
  • Regularly present business & financial performance, product initiatives, and business priorities to senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with FP&A and Data counterparts to ensure accurate revenue across distinct affiliate partnerships and internal properties.
  • Support Product teams on roadmap planning, connecting technical workstreams to strategic priorities.
  • Perform opportunity sizing, tradeoff and feasibility analysis, understanding the business impact of strategic decisions.
  • Juggle multiple workstreams at once.
  • Own Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of driving end-to-end analysis, strategic recommendations, and execution.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, proactive in seeking answers or insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable with numbers and data-driven approaches, and able to share updates to various audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, able to interact with FP&A, Programming, Leadership, Product, etc.

As a Sr Analyst, you will work closely with the Director and Senior Director of Commerce Strategy & Operations to provide a wide-range of strategic recommendations through complex and thorough analysis. While you’ll receive guidance from your manager and senior team members, you must be a self-starter who enjoys branching out to different parts of our business to gain the insights and data necessary to understand the drivers of performance. You’ll also be required to and must be comfortable with preparing and presenting materials for a wide range of audiences including Commerce leadership. Additionally, you will be asked to monitor performance of full webpage performance for a select number of growing brands / publishers.

Requirements:

  • Be able to develop a complete understanding of engagement funnels and drivers of success for a variety of affiliate Commerce business models, but also able to comprehend new initiatives in a relatively short time frame
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and monitor the business impact.
  • Define and track key success metrics, with an ability to understand how these metrics can be incorporated into strategies to positively impact performance
  • Regularly present business & financial performance, product initiatives, and business priorities to senior stakeholders within Commerce and beyond
  • Work closely with FP&A and Data counterparts ensure accurate revenue across a number of distinct affiliate partnerships and internal properties
  • Support Product teams on roadmap planning with an ability to connect technical workstreams to strategic priorities
  • Perform opportunity sizing, tradeoff and feasibility analysis. Be able to understand the business impact of strategic decisions, not just in direct revenue driven but also opportunity cost
  • Juggle multiple workstreams at once
  • Own Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews

  • Strong ownership mindset with a track record of driving end-to-end analysis, strategic recommendations and in some instances, execution of strategy
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills who isn’t afraid to reach out to others to find answers or insights you need to answer complex questions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable with numbers. Relies on a data-driven approach but also know how to share updates to a variety of audiences
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, with the ability to speak multiple business languages in order to interact with FP&A, Programming, Leadership, Product, etc

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
