Job Description

The Account Director is a strategically minded key team lead, bridging client and agency relationships, overseeing multiple workstreams on global CPG accounts. They are responsible for building internal team dynamics, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring campaigns are strategically designed to meet objectives and KPIs. Key responsibilities include overseeing campaign creation, execution, and optimization, managing projects with tight deadlines, ensuring client expectations are met, driving thought leadership, presenting strategic recommendations, and fostering collaborative agency partnerships.
Must Have:
  • Oversee advertising/marketing campaign creation, execution, and optimization.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects end-to-end with tight deadlines.
  • Manage client expectations regarding timing, deliverables, and budget.
  • Drive thought leadership and strategic deliverables.
  • Present strategic marketing direction, POVs, and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on competitor activities and peripheral categories.
  • Build collaborative and trusted relationships with agency partners.
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving mentality.
  • Possess 10+ years of experience in account management, client services, or marketing strategy.
  • Proven success in developing strong client and agency relationships.
  • Ability to manage processes effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to inspire teamwork.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate and optimize cross-agency relationships.
  • Extensive experience in broadcast, digital, and social production.
  • Experience with large brands/budgets and managing projects of scale.
  • Strong team mentality and ability to function in lead/support roles.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and cross-team coordination.

Overview

The Account Director must be strategically minded and will serve as a key team lead, the bridge between client and agency as well as agency partners, and oversee multiple workstreams on global CPG accounts. They must be able to build and enhance internal team dynamics, strengthen our client relationships and build trust. They are valued partners to senior brand managers and marketing directors, as well as agency leaders.

The Account Director must exhibit strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure that client, agency, and vendor relationships are thriving and that campaigns are strategically designed to meet client objectives and achieve the KPI’s.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation, execution and optimization of advertising/marketing campaigns
  • Lead and manage multiple projects, end-to-end, with tight deadlines - in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure management of client expectations around timing, deliverables, and budget
  • Driving thought leadership and strategic deliverables
  • Selling and presentation of strategic marketing direction/POVs, and recommendations
  • Staying up to date on all relevant activities from competitors and peripheral categories
  • Build collaborative and trusted relationships with creative and strategic agency partners
  • Demonstrating a problem-solving mentality

Qualifications

  • Must have 10 plus years of relevant experience (e.g. account management, client services, marketing strategy) ideally with a CPG client
  • Prior success with developing and growing strong relationships with clients and agencies
  • Ability to manage process and with selective involvement from executives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to inspire collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to navigate and optimize cross-agency relationships
  • Vast experience in broadcast, digital, social production – with clear understanding of process and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience working with large brands/budgets and managing projects of scale
  • Strong team mentality with the ability to function at high level in both lead and supports roles with various personalities
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a high standard of work within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent project management skills; strong attention to detail and cross-team coordination
