Job Description

This position focuses on managing a major Tier1 harness maker account. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in managing account objectives, strategies and problem solving, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include leading account growth, managing customer relationships, resolving commercial disputes, establishing proactive communication, ensuring timely responses to customer demands, creating and deploying strategic plans, identifying business development opportunities, and interacting with the global Aptiv team.
Good To Have:
  • Master’s degree/ MBA.
  • 3+ years of Sales leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with Manufacturing, Finance and Engineering.
  • Connection, device and electrical systems experience.
Must Have:
  • Act with sense of urgency and provide timely follow up to all customer inquiries.
  • Lead account growth while managing the customer relationships and acting as the voice of the customer.
  • Create customer strategies through detailed value propositions maximizing booking, revenue and profitability.
  • Lead resolution of customer commercial disputes.
  • Establish proactive communication and relationship that promotes confidence and trust.
  • Ensure customer demands are managed through appropriate internal processes.
  • Create and drive deployment of strategic plan for the account.
  • Identify business development opportunities.
  • Interact with the global Aptiv team and execute any set strategy for the account.
  • Bachelor degree (preferably Finance or Engineering).
  • 2+ years of account management experience within the automotive industry, specifically with Tier One Suppliers.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with Manufacturing, Finance and Engineering.
  • Multitasker with proven capability of strong work ethic.
  • Track record in establishing global customer strategies and increasing revenue/growth.
  • Must be a local resident of the Metro Detroit area with ability to be on site.
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer.

Role Summary

Main Responsibilities

Candidate is expected to act with sense of urgency and provide timely follow up to all customer inquiries. Excellent communication skills, self-confidence, and ability to strengthen the customer relationship and intimacy are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead account growth while managing the customer relationships and acting as the voice of the customer.
  • Create customer strategies through detailed value propositions maximizing booking, revenue and profitability achieving Aptiv metric and objectives.
  • Lead resolution of customer commercial disputes (recognized as Aptiv’s customer lead).
  • Establish proactive communication and relationship that promotes confidence and trust.
  • Ensure customer demands are managed through the appropriate internal processes such that all responses are made timely, within and consistent with our commercial policy.
  • Create and drive deployment of strategic plan for the account . Interacting with the customer purchasing, engineering and program management teams.
  • Identify business development opportunities.
  • Interact with the global Aptiv team, and execute any set strategy for the account.

Education / Experience / Key Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (preferably Finance or Engineering)
  • 2+ years of account management experience within the automotive industry, specifically with Tier One Suppliers
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with Manufacturing, Finance and Engineering
