Job Summary
The Account Manager - Scientific Services at Springer Health+ is responsible for client relationship management, driving revenue, and fostering business growth. This role requires strong networking with medical affairs and marketing teams in pharmaceutical companies, coupled with exceptional project management and client servicing skills. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary client liaison, understanding market landscapes, monitoring revenue forecasts, and leading the briefing process for projects. The manager will also ensure accurate financial reporting and work towards sales and profitability targets.
Must Have

- 8+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing in client-facing account management roles.
- Strong understanding of medical affairs, scientific content development, and pharma compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

About the Role
The Account Manager – Scientific Services is responsible for managing key contact for assigned clients, managing relationships, driving revenue generation. The position demands strong networking capabilities with medical affairs and marketing teams within pharmaceutical companies, combined with exceptional project management and client servicing skills. Core responsibilities include client engagement & revenue generation and fostering business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison across multiple projects and stakeholders, ensuring consistent and high-quality client interactions.
- Represent the organization professionally, enhancing brand visibility and trust.
- Proactively manage client relationships by anticipating needs, gathering feedback, and driving continuous improvement.
Client Insight & Tactical Planning
- Act as an internal subject matter expert on client accounts, addressing inquiries with precision and insight.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the client’s market landscape, including products, competitors, and emerging trends.
- Document and share client discussions and materials internally to ensure transparency and accessibility.
- Conduct periodic internal account reviews covering revenue, profitability, project planning, and strategic alignment.
- Facilitate tactical planning sessions with internal teams and clients to align on objectives and execution.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Monitor account-level revenue forecasts and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Accelerate approvals for ongoing projects and explore new avenues for collaboration.
- Support the development of business proposals, RFIs, and pitch presentations for existing clients.
Project Management - Briefing & Ideation
- Lead the briefing process, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with client expectations.
- Organize brainstorming sessions and effectively communicate briefs to cross-functional teams.
Financial Responsibility - Revenue Forecasting & Reporting
- Provide accurate monthly and annual revenue forecasts and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Work towards achieving or exceeding sales, revenue, and profitability targets, ensuring timely recording of sales.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Life sciences, pharmacy, or related field (mandatory). MBA or equivalent is a plus.
Experience:
8+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing in client-facing account management roles
Strong understanding of medical affairs, scientific content development, and pharma compliance.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
