Must Have

The Lead Clinical Scientist will provide clinical leadership for an innovate imaging AI foundation model. This role is pivotal in ensuring the model meets rigorous clinical standards and is validated in real-world settings. You will work at the intersection of clinical science, AI innovation, and product development, collaborating with developers, data scientists, external physicians, and beta sites. The position offers the opportunity to shape a cutting-edge AI product, influence clinical innovation, and collaborate with international teams. You will also contribute to broader organizational goals by supporting other teams within I&D that require clinical input, and by representing the organization internally and externally on scientific platforms.

Your role:

  • Guide the development of an imaging AI model by providing expert clinical input on model performance, identifying key clinical findings, and offering feedback on user experience and clinical aspects.
  • Collaborate with external physicians and beta sites to validate the model, ensuring clinical relevance and regulatory compliance.
  • Initiate and shape research programs in partnership with the Medical Office and external partners, contributing insights to innovation roadmaps and strategies.
  • Lead evidence creation efforts, including the design and execution of clinical collaborations and studies to validate innovations.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and produce strategic documents (e.g., white papers, Innovation Briefs) to distill complex information and guide decision-making.
  • Recognize and advocate for new capabilities or enhancements within the clinical domain, leveraging experience in clinical and technical advancements.
  • Play a key role in generating and assessing intellectual property (IP), ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive network within the domain, engaging frequently with R&D leaders and key stakeholders in Clinical and Medical Affairs.
  • Represent the organization at international scientific platforms and contribute to thought leadership in clinical AI innovation.
  • Support operational excellence and prototype development, ensuring solutions are refined based on clinical feedback.
  • Maintain business acumen and stakeholder management skills to drive project success and foster collaboration across teams.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are a practicing or recently practicing Radiologist with certification, and have hands-on experience in clinical practice and AI in radiology.
  • You have a strong background in clinical research, clinical trials, and the generation and protection of intellectual property, preferably within medical devices or the pharmaceutical industry.
  • You have experience working with commercial companies and understand the dynamics of healthcare-regulated environments.
  • You are skilled in data analysis, regulatory compliance, technology assessment, market research, and medical writing.
  • You excel at stakeholder management, operational excellence methodologies, and prototype development.
