About You

You have a love for all things illustration. You are a creative at heart and love to sketch, design, and create beautiful artwork. You are comfortable working on your own but really enjoy working collaboratively, and are happy to work in a small interdisciplinary team. Your colleagues can count on your keen artistic abilities and attentiveness to detail. Also…it really helps if you have an appreciation for the sense of humour of a four-year-old!

About the Role

Sago Mini creates beautiful and thoughtfully designed digital and physical products for preschoolers and toddlers and we’re looking for an Intern Artist to join our team. As an Intern Artist you will work with our team to create artwork for use in our digital and physical products. As this is an internship role, we are considering candidates who are completing an art program or are new grads.

This position is a paid internship for four months, May to August 2024.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Creating sketches and final artwork for a variety of elements such as characters, environments, backgrounds, and props consistent with the Sago Mini style.
• Creating printable worksheets for children and parents to do interactive, playful activities at home.
• Gaining experience in producing game-ready art files, organized and laid out to professional standards.

Qualification and Skills

• Completed or working towards completing an art program in college or university.
• Experience creating visual assets for digital and print media - in school or professionally.
• Proficiency and experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Nice to Haves

• Previous experience illustrating and designing content for children.
• Previous experience designing content for mobile apps.
• Previous experience with Animate and/or Unity.
