Job Summary
22squared is seeking an Assistant Media Planner in Atlanta to help develop overall media objectives and strategies. This role involves assisting Media Planners with budget and estimate preparation, maintaining records, and generating periodic reports for assigned accounts. The Assistant Media Planner will also collaborate with accounting to resolve billing discrepancies and work with production to gather necessary information regarding costs, closing dates, creative specifications, IOs, and timelines, ultimately issuing contracts to vendors. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical and communication skills, eager to learn and grow within the media industry.
Must Have
- Assist Media Planners in the preparation of budgets and estimates.
- Maintain records and prepare periodic reports on assigned accounts.
- Work with accounting to analyze billing discrepancies.
- Work with production to develop information about costs, closing dates, creative specs, IOs, and timelines.
- Issue contracts and IOs to vendors.
- BA/BS in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and pull research/competitive data from major research companies (Nielsen, Simmons, Comscore, eMarketer).
- Knowledge of key media terminology.
- Excellent math skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

22squared is looking for an Assistant Media Planner in our Atlanta office to assist with and participate in the development of overall media objectives and strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Media Planners in the preparation of budgets and tentative or formal estimates of proposed media plans
- Maintains records and prepares periodic reports as may be required on assigned accounts
- Works with accounting to analyze billing discrepancies
- Works with production in developing the necessary information about costs and closing dates such as creative specs, IOs, and timelines. Issues contracts and IOs to vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Mac experience preferred, but not required
- Begins to understand the methodology employed by the major research companies (i.e. Nielsen, Simmons, Comscore, eMarketer) and will learn to pull research and competitive data from the available resources
- Knows and understands key media terminology
- Demonstrates an energy level and dedication to learning that makes him/her promotable within the department
- Thinks proactively -- demonstrates ability to think about the next steps to move a project forward
- Excellent math skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in the media industry
