The Assistant Product Manager - Digital Commerce at Unilever's Bangalore HUB will drive the dCom (digital Commerce) Programme, a strategic initiative for global data and technology. This role involves end-to-end product management for a market cluster, liaising with market and CDIO teams, partnering with foundation teams, and managing engineering and product teams to deliver complex digital commerce capabilities. The role requires technical domain knowledge in data management platforms and data science expertise to design and build data products, ensuring Unilever's growth ambition in digital commerce.
Must Have
- Responsible for end-to-end product management for your market cluster
- Deliver and maintain dCom focused data products
- Liaise with the market and CDIO teams to understand requirements, align vision, and deliver
- Partner with the foundation teams to ensure delivery of the dCom roadmap
- Manage engineering and product teams (PowerBI visualizers, data engineers, data modelers, data scientists)
- Engage with the data foundation team to ensure data governance
- Bring data science expertise to anchor algorithm conversations
- Collaborate to troubleshoot dashboard issues, implement scalable enhancements, and provide training
- Contribute to product roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and definition of analytics KPIs and metrics
- Support documentation of business requirements and product specifications
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of BAU processes for analytical dashboards
- Continuously review, evaluate, and improve the product roadmap and relevant products
- Hands-on technical knowledge on Azure, PowerBI, Google Looker, Databricks, Unity Catalog, SQL, Python
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
- Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modelling
- Prior work experience in handling digital commerce platforms and apps
- Ability to handle executive stakeholders
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice versa
Good to Have
- Technical Product management or analyst experience with large setups in CPG, banking, retail, or technology
- Digital or eCommerce expertise – experience with digital (Data, AI, tech) projects / products / programmes

dCom(digital Commerce) Programme is a core strategic initiative and an underpinning component of Unilever’s growth ambition to be the market leader both from a channel and sales perspective for Global Data & Technology (GDT). Our aim is to deliver industry first capabilities and toolsets for frontline digital commerce teams - ensuring state of the art data and analytics capabilities for Unilever global markets like US, UK, Europe, India and China.
The Assistant Product manager role will report into the Product Lead within the Global dComexecution technology team and:
- Be responsible for end-to-end product management for your market cluster and deliver/maintain dCom focused data products.
- Liaise with the market and CDIO teams to understand requirements, align vision of the market users with the strategic product roadmap, and deliver the same
- Partner with the foundation teams to ensure delivery of the dCom roadmap based on local and global priorities
- Manage engineering and product teams to deliver the complex capabilities within the current dCom execution which includes a team of PowerBI visualizers, data engineers, data modelers, and data scientists (technical domain knowledge mandatory shown below in skills)
- Engage with the data foundation team to make sure that the right data governance is in place for the proprietary tools.
- Bring data science expertise to anchor algorithm conversations while designing and building dCom data products for market teams.
- Collaborate with the data foundation and business teams to troubleshoot dashboard issues, implement scalable enhancements, and provide training to ensure smooth usage and adoption.
- Contribute to product roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and the definition of analytics KPIs and metrics.
- Support documentation of business requirements and product specifications, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of BAU processes for analytical dashboards, including regular data refresh, quality checks, performance monitoring, error resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Continuously review, evaluate, and improve the product roadmap and relevant products to ensure ongoing success, including thinking for future.
Skills:
- Hands-on technical knowledge on Azure, PowerBI, Google Looker, Databricks, Unity Catalog, SQL, Python, and similar Data management platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address product challenges, ensuring continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis. Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modelling
- Prior work experience in handling digital commerce platforms and apps and an ability to handle executive stakeholders
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice versa, facilitating clear communication within Scrum teams.

Scope of the Role:
- As the assistant product manager, you will be managing a cluster of digital commerce capability apps end-to-end for a cluster of Unilever markets like South Asia, or PTAB.
- Support the dCom execution charter and work with the dCom - product lead to establish the new organization structure and ways of working as per the new aligned GDT product blueprint.
- Handle the migrated apps that have been onboarded into the dCom tool catalogue and ensure the right governance practices are adopted for the same
- Represent the dCom execution function in agile teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospective meetings for product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business stakeholders) to gather requirements, coordinate deliverables, and resolve project challenges.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement GenAI/Agentic AI use cases to enhance analytics solutions—such as automating report generation, personalized dashboard creation, business insights delivery.
- Explore data and communicate insights clearly to non-technical as well as technical audiences.
- Analyze experimental results, iterate and refine models to create significant business impact
