Job Description

This role involves gaining familiarity with Data Engineering tooling, concepts, practices, and methodologies. The Associate Engineer will perform standard data engineering duties, including understanding business and data requirements, building data management infrastructure, optimizing data extraction, transformation, and loading, and identifying process improvements. Responsibilities also include constructing data pipeline workflows, writing SQL queries, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing ongoing support. The role requires exposure to gathering various data types using batch and real-time processing frameworks and applying relevant database and security standards. A BA/BS degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience is required.

Must Have:

Understand business and data requirements
Build data management infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation and loading
Identify, design and deliver data management process improvements
Construct data pipeline workflows and schedules
Write and optimize SQL and other queries
Troubleshoot and help resolve data-related technical issues
Provide ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance of deployed products
Gain exposure and experience with gathering raw, structured, semi-structured and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks
Learn and apply relevant database / data management, security and related standards and policies
BA/BS degree and 0-2 years’ relevant experience

What success looks like in this role:

Gains familiarity with Data Engineering tooling, concepts, practices and methodologies.

Working with technical colleagues and supported teams to understand business and associated data requirements,
Building data management infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation and loading,
Identifying, designing and delivering data management process improvements,
Constructing data pipeline workflows and schedules,
Writing and optimizing SQL and other queries,
Troubleshooting and helping resolve data-related technical issues, and
Providing ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance of deployed products in a ‘build-and-run’ model.
Gains exposure and experience with gathering raw, structured, semi-structured and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
Learns and applies relevant database / data management, security and related standards and policies.
Assists with projects as assigned.
