Job Summary

Onward Search is looking to hire an Associate QA Engineer for a remote, long-term contract opportunity based out of Los Angeles, California. This role involves joining the Quality Assurance team at a leading global video-game developer and publisher. The engineer will test and analyze gameplay experiences for an unannounced title, providing objective insights to guide design decisions and identifying potential issues to prevent negative player experiences. Collaboration with a team of passionate gamers is key to discussing and dissecting complex game systems across all stages of development.

Must Have

  • Test upcoming gameplay experiences for an unannounced multiplayer title.
  • Provide objective game analysis to support design and development decisions.
  • Identify when game content can be used in unintended or destructive ways to prevent negative player experiences.
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate gamers to discuss and dissect complex game systems.
  • Work across all stages of development to support quality goals.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong gameplay skills in TvT action titles or similar genres.

Good to Have

  • Experience working collaboratively in a professional team environment.
  • Background in providing analysis for gameplay or design concepts.
  • Game industry experience.
  • Desired gameplay skills in competitive or deeply played game genres.

*Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
