Job Summary
Flix Interactive is seeking a talented and motivated Audio Designer to create engaging audio experiences for high-quality Unreal 5 projects. This role involves designing, implementing, recording, editing, and mixing audio assets, collaborating with internal teams and co-development partners. The ideal candidate will take ownership of audio features, assist in designing gameplay-enhancing audio systems, and contribute creative ideas to enhance player immersion and overall project quality.
Must Have
- Take ownership over an audio feature or area, designing and implementing adaptive, high-quality assets.
- Record, edit, process, and mix audio assets to defined quality standards.
- Implement designed and existing audio using FMOD/Wwise or proprietary tooling.
- Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines to understand and deliver engaging, player-focused audio.
- Assist in the design and execution of gameplay enhancing audio systems.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for audio systems, assets, and workflows.
- Test and iterate on audio features based on feedback, design needs, and performance constraints.
- Contribute creative ideas that enhance player immersion and overall project quality.
- Strong proficiency with Reaper, audio middleware and common plugins/virtual instruments.
- Excellent ability to communicate and document designs.
- Understanding of modern field and foley recording techniques and equipment.
- Solid grasp of audio fundamentals, signal processing, and 3D spatialisation.
- Solid experience with Unreal engine, with foundational knowledge in Blueprints and Meta Sounds.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Create polished, original sound assets across a broad range of categories to a high technical and creative standard.
- Implement audio efficiently and troubleshoot behaviours within middleware and engine.
- Communicate ideas clearly and contribute meaningfully to cross-discipline discussions.
- Take feedback constructively and apply it proactively.
- Manage tasks effectively, maintain documentation, and uphold audio quality standards.
- Bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a growth mindset to every stage of production.

You will work closely with our internal teams and co-development partners to deliver high-quality audio that enhances the player experience and supports the game vision. The ideal candidate is a versatile Audio Designer who stays in tune with evolving audio technology and tools, and brings strong creative, technical, and collaborative skills to every stage of production.
