The Software Engineer in Test ensures product quality by understanding the technology stack and functionality. This role involves setting up test frameworks and cases for end-to-end product evaluation. As a key contributor, you will participate in delivering high-quality software solutions, driving automation initiatives, and deploying successful quality processes throughout the software development lifecycle. Must Have
- Ensure proper QA policies and testing coverage is applied to assigned projects and tasks
- Participate in the Agile software delivery process by writing, reviewing functional and design specifications
- Develop and review test cases in Perl, KSH, JAVA, JUnit, TestNG, SQL and Selenium
- Write user stories and tasks for sprints
- Coordinate efforts and communication with the developers and other team members to ensure resolution of defects
- Manage/triage defects in the bug tracking system
- Consult with various cross department team members to review and troubleshoot production issues
- Drive automation initiatives including white box scripting and functional automation projects
- Execute and assist in performance testing
- Ensure that products meet or exceed the quality standards by applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures
- Work with rest of the Quality Assurance and Software Development teams to deploy successful quality processes throughout the software development lifecycle
- Prepare detailed test reports
- Four-year technical degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years recent experience in Software Development and/or Software Test Automation
- Experience working in an Agile environment/familiarity with Agile methodology and tools
- Ability to seamlessly integrate automation solutions with continuous integration (using Jenkins) build
- Experienced with current database technologies – RDBMS and NoSQL DBs – like Oracle, Mongo, Cassandra
- Experience testing software at API and webservice level
- Experience testing different web service methodologies REST, SOAP over XML, JSON payloads
- Experience with Shell/Perl scripting in Linux/Unix Environment
- Must have backend testing experience with Web servers, routers and load balancing
- Must be proficient in a Linux/Unix environments
- Must be proficient in Perl, KSH
- Experience with development with Java, JUnit, TestNG and Selenium
- Experience in automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, SoapUI, Load Runner and QTP etc.
- Experience testing with SQL queries/oracle database
- Experience setting up QA Environment including web/application/database servers
- Experience in deploying builds in QA Environment
- Understanding of the SDLC and comprehensive understanding of the entire Quality Assurance process
- Strong technical and analytical skills related to software Quality Assurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience as a Scrum Team member

Job Description
What We'll Bring:
The Software Engineer in Test is responsible for the final quality of the product. This resource should have a good understanding of the pertinent technology stack and the product functionality, should be able to support engineers in the team with technology and should be able to setup a test framework and test cases to evaluate the end-to-end functionality of the product. The role is based out of India at the Neustar's office in Bangalore.
