Tycho.AI is seeking a mission-driven Business Development Director to drive growth at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and national security. As an individual contributor, you’ll play a critical part in expanding our presence within the U.S. Department of Defense and allied international markets. You’ll combine deep market insight with a strong technical understanding of our products to identify opportunities, shape strategic engagements, and lead high-impact capture efforts. This is a high-ownership, field-facing role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about delivering real capability to those who need it most.
- Become a mission-aligned product expert: Build a deep technical understanding of Tycho’s product lines to effectively engage with DoD and international MOD stakeholders, translating complex capabilities into operational impact.
- Build and expand high-value relationships: Cultivate trusted, long-term partnerships with key government stakeholders, driving customer engagement and aligning our product lines with customer needs.
- Own customer engagement: Represent Tycho.AI at industry conferences, customer meetings, and demonstrations, serving as the strategic voice of our GTM efforts in the field.
- Build and own the GTM pipeline: Drive top-of-funnel activity, qualify opportunities, and maintain a sharp forecast. Understand market dynamics, track competitors, and help shape our positioning in a rapidly evolving defense tech landscape.
- Shape market opportunities: Collaborate with government relations and product teams to identify new market and investment opportunities, and drive GTM alignment across the business.
- Deep knowledge of the UXS and C-UAS market environments, including key programs, players, and operational challenges.
- Familiarity with U.S. and international government acquisition pathways, from early engagement through to program capture and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex capture efforts and win competitive bids.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM for managing pipeline health, tracking leads, and reporting with accuracy.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% for customer meetings, demos, and industry events.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and storytelling skills; able to translate tech into clear mission value.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, takes initiative, and stays mission-focused.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience gained through military service, operational roles, or hands-on work in defense or aerospace.
- 4+ years of proven success in business development, capture, or program management roles within the aerospace, defense, or national security ecosystem.
