Job Summary
Quest Global is seeking a Controls Engineer - Technical Support to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues, providing technical support to the triaging team. The role involves troubleshooting programming and electrical issues, interacting with customers, writing PLC code for semi-complex systems, and supporting material specification and bill-of-materials development. Candidates will also manage semi-complex projects and assist in technical knowledge transfer, contributing to productivity and customer satisfaction.
Must Have
- Help customers troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Provide technical support to the triaging team.
- Troubleshoot programming and electrical issues (on site or remotely).
- Interact directly with the customer (on site or remotely).
- Write PLC code for semi-complex systems utilizing standard practices.
- Provide support in material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development.
- Independently run semi-complex projects through the project life cycle.
- Minimum of 4-8 years' experience in controls engineering.
- Proficient in project planning, creating schematic and electrical layout drawings, working with PLCs and HMIs.
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, Schneider Unity, or Siemens TIA Portal).
- Working understanding of design, layout and use of current networks (Profibus, ASi, Ethernet).
- Experience in writing descriptions of operations and developments of controls based physical layouts.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
Good to Have
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with material handling systems.

What You will Do:
- Candidates will help customers troubleshoot and resolve issues. They will provide technical support to the triaging team on the same.
- Troubleshoot programming and electrical issues that arise on site or remotely.
- Interact directly with the customer on site or remotely.
- Write PLC code for semi-complex systems utilizing standard practices.
- Provides support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and appropriate follow-up.
- Participates in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Independently run semi-complex projects through the project life cycle, including all design, documentation, and forecasting.
- Assist in complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 4-8 years' experience in controls engineering.
- Qualified candidates are proficient in project planning, creating schematic and electrical layout drawings, working with PLCs and HMIs, and implementation and commissioning of engineering design projects.
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers. Expertise with Allen Bradley, Schneider Unity, or Siemens TIA Portal required.
- Must demonstrate a working understanding of design, layout and use of current networks such as Profibus, ASi, and Ethernet.
- Experience in writing descriptions of operations and developments of controls based physical layouts is expected.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous opportunities and deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with material handling systems is preferred.
- 4-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of responsibilities as presented above.
- Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable
- Bachelor's Degree or equal in a related discipline
Pay Range:
$72,000 to $78,000 per year
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
