Job Description

As a Customer Care Specialist at Illumina, you will directly support customers in your territory with instrument and large consumable orders, coordinating installations, and resolving inquiries. This onsite role in Eindhoven, with hybrid options, requires previous office experience, excellent commercial skills, and strong customer relationship building abilities. You will process orders, manage dispatch, handle backlog, and resolve business issues, collaborating with various internal teams to ensure a world-class customer experience.

  • Process orders (>350K) in an efficient and timely manner, according to customer specifications and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Assist in responding to customer inquiries by email & phone and provide the best suitable solution to their needs.
  • Manage instrument dispatch and coordinate delivery.
  • Build productive collaborative working relationships with Technical Support, Quote, Finance, Sales, logistics, Field Service & Support.
  • Perform order backlog management and exception handling.
  • Respond, investigate, and provide solution to Business Issues (complaints) raised by the customer.
  • Previous office based experience working within a customer support role is essential.
  • Excellent commercial skills.
  • Ability to understand and/or deploy key internal business processes.
  • Understand key customer engagement processes.
  • Able to utilise commercial tools (e.g., CRM, SAP, Quickbase, Tableau).
  • Navigate internal & external partners.
  • Fluent in English language skills.

As a Customer Care Specialist you will liaise directly with customers within your territory to support with orders of instruments as well as large consumable orders, right through to working with them to plan installation. You will support with customer enquiries and provide the best suitable solution to their needs.

This is an onsite position with the opportunity for hybrid working up to three days per week. The suitable candidate will have previous office experience with excellent commercial skills and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. It is essential for the role that you have Fluent English language skills, in addition, German language skills would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Process orders (>350K) in an efficient and timely manner, according to the customer specifications and commercial terms and conditions. (Includes consumables & instrument orders, order call offs, conversions and adjustments in ship schedules, RMA’s).
  • Assist in responding to customer inquiries by email & phone and provide the best suitable solution to their needs. (e.g., order verification, updates on delivery dates, product availability and pricing).
  • Manage instrument dispatch and coordinate delivery
  • Build productive collaborative working relationships with Technical Support, Quote, Finance, Sales, logistics, Field Service & Support to deliver world class experience to our customers.
  • Perform order backlog management and exception handling (credit hold, delivery exception) to ensure timely delivery
  • Respond, investigate, and provide solution to Business Issues (complaints) raised by the customer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Previous office based experience working within a customer support role is essential
  • Excellent commercial skills
  • Ability to understand and/or deploy key internal business processes
  • Understand key customer engagement processes
  • Able to utilise commercial tools (e.g., CRM, SAP, Quickbase, Tableau)
  • Navigate internal & external partners
  • Fluent in English language with the addition of German language skills being highly preferred
