Job Description

Autodesk seeks a strong senior data analyst within the Data Acquisition team, designated with understanding, quantifying and visualizing various design data elements, enrichments and abstracts. These datasets form the basis for data selection and understanding for various AI/ML projects at Autodesk. This role collaborates with Product Managers, Program/Project managers, other Analysts, Platform Architecture, and the Engineering Team to ensure data is well-understood, well-organized, and key insights are highlighted and developed. Communication skills are critical, and you must be comfortable telling a story with data to audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.
Must have:
  • Content characterization of data; gathering key insights derived from different views and data combinations
  • Prototype and measure the quality and effectiveness of new data aggregations and enrichments
  • Build reporting to measure progress in key initiatives and improve accessibility of general insights
  • Leverage Data Mining techniques and analytics peers in teams around the company to develop new data sources and potential business insights
  • Document and organize work to provide transparency
  • Advanced expert role, requiring deep subject-matter knowledge and sound business acumen to advise leaders
  • Incumbents translate specialized subject-matter requirements into business needs/requirements
  • Require depth of specialized expertise to interpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices to address them
  • Solve complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors by taking a broad perspective to identify the best approach and innovative solutions
  • Work independently, with close guidance in only the most complex or unusual situations
  • Adapt communication style to persuade various stakeholders across the business and frequently interact with senior leaders to provide advice and SME
  • May lead functional teams or programs within own function (or closely related functions)

Position Overview

Autodesk seeks a strong senior data analyst within the Data Acquisition team, designated with understanding, quantifying and visualizing various design data elements, enrichments and abstracts. These datasets form the basis for data selection and understanding for various AI/ML projects at Autodesk.

This role collaborates with Product Managers, Program/Project managers, other Analysts, Platform Architecture, and the Engineering Team to ensure data is well-understood, well-organized, and key insights are highlighted and developed. Communication skills are critical, and you must be comfortable telling a story with data to audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.

  • For jobs at this level, knowledge of the business starts to become as important as subject-matter knowledge
  • Incumbents translate specialized subject-matter requirements into business needs/requirements
  • Require depth of specialized expertise to interpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices to address them
  • Solve complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors by taking a broad perspective to identify the best approach and innovative solutions
  • Work independently, with close guidance in only the most complex or unusual situations
  • Adapt communication style to persuade various stakeholders across the business and frequently interact with senior leaders to provide advice and SME
  • May lead functional teams or programs within own function (or closely related functions)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong SQL coding skills; comfortable using it every day. (Snowflake, Presto, MSSQL, HiveQL or equivalent)
  • Understanding and experience applying statistical methods and data modeling techniques
  • Ability to distill detailed results into easily digestible insights
  • Experience working with unstructured data
  • Experience working in Python or R to perform statistical analysis and data visualizations
  • Experience building dashboards in Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Looker or equivalent)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, understanding how to tailor your message to your audience
  • Strong sense of ownership with a bias for action when challenges arise
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across an organization
  • Desire to create, investigate and follow best practices
