Data Analyst, Daily Index Operations

The Data Analyst, Daily Index Operations role at Morningstar in Mumbai involves understanding market data, shares, and corporate actions, as well as various stock exchanges. Key responsibilities include sourcing and validating data for index development, managing data according to client requirements, and driving continuous process improvements. Must Have

• Very good understanding of market data, shares, and corporate actions
• Knowledge about various stock exchanges, boards, and holiday calendars
• Ability to source and validate data for index development and maintenance
• Understanding of corporate actions treatment on entity, price, and shares data
• Experience with UAT of system improvements and data validations
• Ability to create and maintain data dictionaries and dashboards
• Proficiency in data management policies, procedures, and common technical tools
• Basic to intermediate skills in SQL queries
• Excellent command over Excel and collaboration tools
• Bachelor’s degree in economics/finance/business
• 4+ years’ experience in the financial domain related to equity data, particularly corporate actions and shares/price data

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics/ finance/business, master’s degree would be an added advantage.
• 4+ years’ experience in the financial domain related to equity data particularly corporate actions and shares/price data.
• Proficient with the data management policies, procedures, and common technical tools.
• Strong collaborative and good in communication.
• Passion for investing and knowledge of securities markets.
• Basic to intermediate skills in SQL queries to understand database content and relationships.
• Excellent command over Excel and other collaboration tools
