Job Summary

This technician role involves supporting preventive maintenance, repairs, and project support in Mission Critical data centers and their surrounding infrastructure. The individual will work with higher-level technicians and engineers, ensuring facilities meet company standards, applying specialized knowledge across disciplines, and maintaining an efficient and safe environment. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical and mechanical infrastructure, performing daily inspections, overseeing contractors, and responding to emergencies.

Must Have

  • Support preventive maintenance, repairs, and project support in Mission Critical data centers.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure per manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings/schematics and mechanical drawings/P&ID.
  • Perform and execute necessary rounds throughout the Data Center and around the property.
  • Provide oversight of contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy.
  • Monitor building management systems and other automated tools.
  • Provide on-call rotation and emergency response as needed.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Journeyman level Electrician.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs including email, documents, and spreadsheets.
  • Valid and current CA driver’s license.

General Summary:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This technician has a high skill level in the Electrical field, will work side by side with higher level technicians and will support preventive maintenance, repairs and project support in Mission Critical data centers and their surrounding infrastructure. They will ensure facilities are maintained at a level that meets or exceeds the company’s standard. They will apply specialized knowledge and expertise across many different disciplines and ensure an efficient and safe working environment. They will provide on-call rotation and emergency response as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work side by side with higher level technicians and engineers on assigned projects related to preventive maintenance, repairs or projects.
  • Support the maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure per manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings/schematics and mechanical drawings/P&ID
  • Perform and execute necessary rounds throughout the Data Center and around the property as directed to ensure the integrity of the site.
  • Perform customer installation activities, rack layouts, electrical circuits, and HVAC.
  • Provide oversight of contractors and service providers.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all Data Center and IT room infrastructure both on site and through monitoring programs.
  • Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy.
  • Monitor building management systems and other automated tools and applications to ensure operational efficiencies.
  • As a member of an on–call rotation provides emergency response as needed.
  • Perform assigned tasks when part of a project team.
  • Respond to work requests within a timely manner delivering a high level of support.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Participates in all Change Management processes including risk assessment and procedural development and review.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required. Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Journeyman level Electrician Must have basic knowledge of computer programs including email, documents and spreadsheets. Valid and current CA driver’s license required. Requires minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of Data Center Facilities or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$28.27 - $42.41

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
