Exusia is seeking a Data Engineer with expertise in Java and AWS to join its global delivery team in India. This full-time hybrid role involves building applications using AWS and Python for analytics and machine learning needs. The engineer will work across the SDLC, gather requirements, design solutions, and potentially mentor junior developers. Direct interaction with stakeholders is expected in an on-shore/off-shore delivery model.
Must Have
- Minimum 6 years of experience in data engineering with AWS technologies.
- Proficiency in AWS services: Airflow, EMR, Lambda, IAM.
- Experience with Apache Spark and Java for data processing tasks.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational databases.
- Ability to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists and business users.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Good to Have
- Exposure to AWS AI & ML related services
- Some exposure to building web applications (front end and backend) using technologies like Angular, React, Node.js
- Exposure to other cloud platforms (Azure or GCP)
- Exposure working with Healthcare/Pharma domain
- Exposure to Micro Frameworks and Asynchronous frameworks

What’s the Role?
Full-time job to work with Exusia's clients to build applications using AWS and Python to support Analytics and Machine Learning needs. The role will work with clients across the SDLC and will participate in gathering functional requirements of business, understand the technical requirements and working with Exusia’s Solution Architects to design and build the applications. Depending on the expertise and experience level, this role will also be expected to guide and mentor junior developers and help in competency development initiatives. This role will call for direct interaction with key stakeholders to effectively communicate on progress updates/issues working in on-shore/off-shore delivery model
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Master/Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years ‘of relevant experience working as a developer with AWS & Python
- Ability to use new tools/frameworks/ cloud-based technologies to build analytical applications
- Ability to use new tools/frameworks/ cloud-based technologies to build analytical applications
- Ability to work in a highly demanding environment
- Possess good mentoring abilities and provide hands-on guidance to other team members.
- Collaborate with product teams and designers ensuring client satisfaction with the product.
- Possess excellent communication & documentation skills, interact directly with business users.
Mandatory Skills:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using AWS services, including AWS Airflow, EMR, and Lambda.
- Implement data processing solutions using Apache Spark with Java to handle large datasets efficiently.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and reliability.
- Implement AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to ensure secure access to data and resources.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and pipelines to ensure high availability and performance.
- Document data processes, architectures, and workflows for future reference and compliance.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS services and best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with a focus on AWS technologies.
- Strong proficiency in AWS services, particularly AWS Airflow, EMR, Lambda, and IAM.
- Experience with Apache Spark and programming in Java for data processing tasks.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
