Job Description

The Data Manager position at Thales's Land and Air Systems in Massy is responsible for ensuring the reliability of equipment, delivery times, and stock information. This role involves anticipating parts and capacity needs through forecasting, and reducing costs and delays by promptly identifying issues. The program manages the operational maintenance of nearly 700 systems, coordinating with about twenty industrial partners.

Must Have:
  • Ensure data governance within the program, adhering to Group Data policies.
  • Validate and clean program data in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Produce dashboards and ad-hoc data analyses.
  • Proactively identify non-conformities or alerts from data analysis for business teams.
  • Participate in defining analytical needs and integrating predictive models.
  • Ensure follow-up on AI model performance.
  • Promote adoption of analytical tools and data-oriented culture.
  • BAC+5 degree and experience in data management, modeling, interpretation, and quality.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose improvements.
  • Proficiency in a BI tool (Qlik or MS PowerBI).
  • Experience with a data modeling tool.
  • Experience with a data cataloging tool (Data Galaxy preferred).

Your daily life

The Land and Air Systems activity based at the Massy site is a leader in air operations command and control systems and air defense radar systems.

Our program ensures the operational maintenance of nearly 700 systems by coordinating the activities of about twenty industrial partners.

The Data Manager position is attached to the Operations Directorate and is located at the Thales Massy site (and Vélizy from 2027).

The objectives to be covered by the position:

  • Ensure the reliability of information on equipment, deadlines, and stocks;
  • Anticipate parts and capacity needs through forecasts;
  • Reduce costs and delays by quickly detecting delays and problems.

Daily missions:

  • Data Governance: ensure the proper execution of the Group's Data policies within the program;
  • Data Quality: validate and clean program data, with stakeholders;
  • Data Analysis: produce dashboards and ad hoc analyses;
  • Operational Supervision: Following data analysis, report non-conformities or alerts for consideration by business teams (proactivity on performance risks or availability of the Supply Chain);
  • AI: Participate in defining analytical needs, facilitate the integration of predictive models into business processes, and monitor their performance;
  • Change Management: Promote the adoption of analytical tools, support teams and partners in their appropriation, and encourage a data-oriented culture.

Your profile

You have a BAC+5 degree and experience in:

  • Data Management, including data modeling, its interpretation, and especially data quality management;
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose improvements;
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose effective solutions;
  • Proficiency in a BI tool: Qlik (preferably) or MS PowerBI;
  • Practice of a data modeling tool;
  • Practice of a data cataloging tool (Data Galaxy if possible)
