Job Description

Iron Mountain is seeking a motivated Destruction Technician to join our Operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and securely processing and destroying all materials delivered to the facility. You will execute the material destruction process, including cutting open bags, dumping payloads, emptying and sorting material by grade. You will also maintain operational efficiency by safely operating destruction machinery, performing regular equipment cleaning, and handling emergency equipment repairs as needed. Ensuring compliance by maintaining strict security of all customer material and vehicles, and keeping the work area clean, following all safety and regulatory standards is also key.
Good To Have:
  • Bobcat experience
  • Forklift experience
Must Have:
  • Execute material destruction process (cutting bags, dumping payloads, sorting).
  • Maintain operational efficiency by safely operating destruction machinery and performing cleaning/repairs.
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining strict security of customer material and vehicles, keeping work area clean.
  • Current experience in a production or warehousing environment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks: lifting, pushing, pulling containers up to 225 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery operation.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts in non-climate controlled atmosphere, including machine operation.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Execute the material destruction process, including cutting open bags, dumping payloads, emptying and sorting material by grade.
  • Maintain operational efficiency by safely operating destruction machinery, performing regular equipment cleaning, and handling emergency equipment repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance by maintaining strict security of all customer material and vehicles, and keeping the work area clean, following all safety and regulatory standards.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current experience in a production or warehousing environment.
  • Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy bags, pushing rolling carts, and pulling two-and four-wheeled containers weighing up to 225 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery operation, with preference given to candidates possessing Bobcat and Forklift experience.
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, which includes about five hours spent on machine operation (Forklift/Bobcat).
