Job Summary

As a Lead Technical Project Manager at Motorola Solutions, you will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive project schedules, build plans, and resource allocations for flagship New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. You will utilize project management methodologies to drive execution, accountability, and risk mitigation, ensuring program KPIs for schedule, cost, and quality are met from inception through launch. This role involves proactive risk identification, financial oversight of NPI programs, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and Electronic Manufacturer Suppliers. You will also lead Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to optimize processes and improve quality during NPI builds, with telecommuting options available.

Must Have

  • Lead development and execution of project schedules, build plans, and resource allocations for NPI programs.
  • Utilize project management methodologies and tools to drive execution and accountability.
  • Achieve program KPIs (Schedule, Cost, Quality) from inception through launch.
  • Act as central point of contact for Supply Chain NPI activities among internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify risks through detailed assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Oversee and track financial aspects of NPI programs (OPEX, CAPEX, MCPU).
  • Work with EMS to create and validate Process Flow Charts, PFMEAs, and PCPs.
  • Oversee implementation and use of Manufacturing Quality Systems (MQS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Lead Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve yield and streamline operations.
  • Perform Build Report Analysis and 8D problem-solving exercises.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience.

Job Description

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project schedules, build plans, and resource allocations for flagship NPI programs.
  • Utilize project management methodologies and tools to develop schedules, drive execution and accountability and risk mitigation; achieve program KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) of Schedule, Cost, and Quality from inception through program launch.
  • Act as the central point of contact for Supply Chain NPI activities among internal stakeholders—including Product Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Senior Leadership—to align on NPI, product development, operational readiness, and launch strategy.
  • Proactively identify risks through detailed risk assessments, Pareto analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to prevent delays or cost overruns.
  • Oversee and track financial aspects of the NPI program including OPEX, CAPEX, and Manufacturing Cost Per Unit (MCPU) calculations.
  • Ensure project costs are controlled while maintaining scope and quality.
  • Work with EMS (Electronic Manufacturer Supplier) to create and validate Process Flow Charts, PFMEAs (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and PCPs (Process Control Plans) to ensure that the manufacturing processes align with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee implementation and use of Manufacturing Quality Systems (MQS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), enabling real-time quality control and data driven decision-making during prototype and ramp-up phases.
  • Lead Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve yield, reduce waste, and streamline operations during NPI builds.
  • Perform Build Report Analysis, 8D problem-solving exercises, and feedback loops for iterative improvement.
  • 25% domestic travel throughout the United States.
  • Telecommuting permitted 2 – 3 days per week.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree + 5 years experience.
