Job Description

We Are Social is seeking a Director Performance (m/f/d) for an 18-month contract in Munich or Berlin, to support its EMEA Intelligence team. This role involves leading and developing a team of Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers, and developing and implementing data-driven paid media strategies across platforms like Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok. The Director will manage digital advertising campaigns, collaborate with creative and analytics teams, analyze campaign results, and identify innovative optimization potentials to drive customer acquisition and revenue.

Must Have:
  • Lead, foster, and develop a team of Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers.
  • Develop and implement data-driven Paid Media strategies across platforms like Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, and programmatic networks.
  • Manage planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns, including budget allocation and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, E-commerce, and Analytics teams to develop ad assets and synchronize messaging.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign results using analytics tools, derive insights, and improve KPIs.
  • Ensure all Paid Media activities support the overall marketing strategy and contribute to customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication or similar.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in Paid Media, Digital Marketing or Social Media, including proven leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of Paid Social and Digital Media platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest) and common analytics and management tools.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing Paid campaigns for E-commerce or Retail brands.
  • Strong analytical skills, project management competence, and a data-driven approach.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Profound understanding of E-commerce KPIs, Customer Journeys, Attribution Models and digital Sales Funnels.
  • Experience with Audience Targeting, Remarketing, Conversion Tracking / Pixel Implementation and Multi-Channel Attribution.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and a sense for economic contexts.

Requirements

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, foster, and develop a team of Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers – with clear goals, individual coaching, and a focus on personal growth.
  • Develop and implement data-driven Paid Media strategies across platforms such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, and programmatic networks – aligned with brand and e-commerce goals.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns – including budget allocation, performance tracking, and creative messaging.
  • Work closely with the Creative, Marketing, E-commerce, and Analytics teams to develop impactful ad assets, synchronize messaging, and support the customer journey from awareness to purchase.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign results using analytics tools, derive insights, improve KPIs such as CTR, ROAS, and Conversion Rates, and present clear reports to stakeholders.
  • Observe digital and e-commerce trends, new advertising platforms, and best practices to identify innovative optimization potentials.
  • Ensure that all Paid Media activities support the overarching marketing strategy and measurably contribute to customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or a comparable field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Paid Media, Digital Marketing, or Social Media, including proven leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of Paid Social and Digital Media platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest) as well as common analytics and management tools.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing Paid campaigns for e-commerce or retail brands.
  • Strong analytical skills, project management competence, and a data-driven approach.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with international teams and markets within the EMEA region is an advantage.
