Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a meticulous and experienced Document Controller with a strong background in aviation or large infrastructure projects. This role involves establishing, maintaining, and managing comprehensive document control systems, ensuring all project documentation is accurately recorded, stored, and distributed. The ideal candidate will implement and enforce document numbering, version control, and filing protocols, manage EDMS, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Must Have
- Minimum 7 years in document control, preferably in aviation or large infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Establish, maintain, and manage document control systems.
- Ensure accurate recording, storage, and distribution of project documentation.
- Implement and enforce document numbering, version control, and filing protocols.
- Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of document control processes.
- Support quality assurance teams with documentation.
- Act as primary contact for document-related queries.
- Generate regular reports on document status.
Good to Have
- Certification in quantity surveying or cost management (e.g., RICS, CIQS, or equivalent).
- Experience in managing cost control for live environments, such as operational airports or malls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to manage stakeholders and contractors.

This role is critical to maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and security of project documentation throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, and manage document control systems for aviation or large infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all project documentation (e.g., drawings, contracts, specifications, reports) is accurately recorded, stored, and distributed.
- Implement and enforce document numbering, version control, and filing protocols in line with company and client requirements.
- Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS) to facilitate efficient document retrieval and sharing.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project-specific guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of document control processes to identify and address gaps or inefficiencies.
- Support quality assurance teams by providing accurate and up-to-date documentation for inspections and reviews.
- Act as the primary point of contact for document-related queries from internal teams, clients, and contractors.
- Generate regular reports on document status, including pending approvals, revisions, and distribution logs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in document control, preferably in aviation or large infrastructure projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
