Job Summary
As an Electronics Card Placement Routing Technician at Thales's Elancourt site, you will join the Electronic Design Office team. Your role involves developing and maintaining electronic sub-assemblies for Optronics and Missile Electronics products. You will be responsible for the placement and routing of electronic cards and interconnection flexes, collaborating closely with card designers and manufacturing partners.
Must Have
- Conduct upstream pre-placement studies of electronic cards to verify feasibility and identify technological risks.
- Perform placement and routing of all types of electronic cards (high-density digital, analog, power, radio frequency) and interconnection flexes during the design phase.
- Interface with card manufacturers to integrate manufacturing and testability constraints.
- Produce the definition file at the end of the Placement & Routing phase in accordance with our reference system.
- Proficiency in CAD tools for card placement & routing (Cadence or equivalent).
- Knowledge in electronics.
- Knowledge of electronic card manufacturing process (PCB/PCBA).

At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales LAS France's most important technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize expertise in over 80 professions in defense, high-tech security, and digital services solutions.
Within the Technical Competence Center of Thales LAS France Elancourt, the Electronics Department's mission is to develop and maintain electronic sub-assemblies for the various products of the Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) Domain. It brings together the skills and resources necessary for electronic developments in digital, analog, power, and radio frequency fields.
Attached to the Head of the Electronic Design Office (SBE), you will join the team responsible for the placement and routing of electronic cards and interconnection flexes.
As a CAD implanter and in close collaboration with card designers, your main missions will be:
- to ensure upstream, the pre-placement studies of electronic cards to verify feasibility in terms of surface and bulk and identify technological risks
- to perform during the design phase, the placement and routing of all types of electronic cards (high-density digital, analog, power, radio frequency) and interconnection flexes
- to interface with card manufacturers to integrate manufacturing and testability constraints
- to produce the definition file at the end of the Placement & Routing phase in accordance with our reference system
To carry out these activities, you will interact with various representatives of the professions contributing to the development of electronic cards: designers, industrialization managers, EMC specialists, testability specialists, thermal engineers, technologists.
Your profile
You hold a BAC +2, +3 degree and have experience in:
- Proficiency in CAD tools for card placement & routing (Cadence or equivalent).
- Knowledge in electronics.
- Knowledge of the electronic card manufacturing process (PCB/PCBA).
- Interpersonal skills for teamwork with various professions involved in electronic card development.
