Job Description

Tekion is disrupting the automotive industry with its cloud-native platform, connecting OEMs, retailers, and consumers using AI and machine learning. This role, an Emerging Product Consultant (Fixed Operations), focuses on preparing new products for commercialization and ensuring product-market fit across Fixed, Accounting/Payroll, and CRM/Retail verticals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive software or dealership operations, particularly in Fixed Operations (Parts and Service) and DMS knowledge. Responsibilities include product knowledge transfer, training, technical support, sales enablement, and customer success, ensuring seamless product adoption and continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • Work with new products and major releases for general availability and commercialization.
  • Manage successful product-market fit for multiple verticals (Fixed, Accounting/Payroll, CRM/Retail).
  • Develop deep understanding of emerging software products, features, capabilities, and benefits.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs and educational materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop sales enablement resources.
  • Partner with customer success teams for successful onboarding, adoption, and retention.
  • Gather feedback from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders for product improvement.
  • Advocate for customer needs and requirements to drive product roadmap prioritization.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments.
  • Develop market enablement strategies to position products effectively and drive demand generation.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with product development and implementation.
  • Proactively develop mitigation strategies to address risks and minimize disruptions.
  • Possess strong Automotive Dealership knowledge and/or Automotive Software experience.
  • Required knowledge of the DMS and/or working with the DMS.
  • Required fixed operations experience in Parts AND Service.

Job Description

We are seeking a hands on individual to work with new products and major product releases to prepare them for general availability and commercialization. This individual will be responsible for managing successful product-market fit for multiple verticals including Fixed, Accounting/Payroll and CRM/Retail. The ideal candidate has a background in automotive software or the automotive dealership space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director, Emerging Product Enablement
  • Hands on individual that works with new products and major product releases to prepare them for general availability and commercialization
  • Responsible to manage successful product-market fit for multiple verticals (Fixed, Accounting/Payroll, CRM/Retail)
  • Product Knowledge Transfer: Develop a deep understanding of our emerging software products, including their features, capabilities, and benefits. Translate technical concepts into clear and compelling messaging that resonates with customers and partners.
  • Training and Education: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs and educational materials to enable internal teams, customers, and partners to effectively use and promote our products. Develop training content tailored to different audiences and learning styles, including in-person sessions, webinars, videos, and documentation.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert on our products, providing technical support and guidance to internal teams, customers, and partners as needed. Troubleshoot issues, answer questions, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop sales enablement resources, including product demos, sales collateral, pitch decks, and competitive battle cards. Provide sales training and support to help drive product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Customer Success: Partner with customer success teams to ensure successful onboarding, adoption, and retention of customers. Develop onboarding processes, customer success plans, and best practices to drive value realization and customer satisfaction.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for product improvement and enhancement. Advocate for customer needs and requirements within the organization to drive product roadmap prioritization and development.
  • Market Enablement: Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities for product differentiation and market expansion. Develop market enablement strategies to position our products effectively and drive demand generation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and cohesion across all aspects of product enablement. Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating communication and understanding.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with product development and implementation. Proactively develop mitigation strategies to address risks and minimize disruptions.

Skills and Experience

  • Dealership operations – understand how dealerships operate, key metrics at a dealership by department, and what drives expenses and growth at a Dealership in at least 1 department area (CRM/Retail, Accounting, Fixed Ops, Payroll)
  • Proven technical, quantitative and critical-thinking skills, high level of independent judgment, initiative and creativity to identify and clearly communicate key performance drivers to management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to think strategically and tackle open-ended problems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a good team player
