We are seeking a passionate and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Subscriptions team within the Consumer Platform's Commerce portfolio. This team is at the heart of Nine's digital growth, responsible for the platforms that power our customers' subscription lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how users subscribe to and interact with our products. Must Have:
  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, actively supporting their professional development and career growth.
  • Act as an enabler for your team, removing roadblocks and ensuring they have the resources to succeed.
  • Lead the team in designing, building, and maintaining our core subscription and billing services.
  • Partner with Product Managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Drive the technical roadmap for the Subscriptions team, ensuring alignment with the broader Consumer Platform vision.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring they are on time, on budget, and of high quality.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing a team of software engineers.
  • A strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, ideally with exposure to subscription systems.
  • Proven experience in building and running high-availability, scalable, consumer-facing digital products.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A passion for people management and a desire to build a positive and supportive team culture.
  • A strong understanding of agile development methodologies.
