Job Summary
Nine, Australia's largest locally owned media company, is seeking a Sales Executive for its Publishing division. This role involves managing campaigns and deal sales across top metro mastheads like the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Australian Financial Review, as well as the Nine.com.au portfolio. The successful candidate will join a fast-paced, high-performing sales team, focusing on meeting revenue targets, educating clients on product value, and delivering leading solutions. The role requires proven media sales or digital experience, strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
Must Have
- Manage a pipeline of briefs and proactive ideas to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Accurately forecast revenue to the business
- Communicate product value to educate clients and deliver on product sales
- Maintain strong knowledge of online video and display, native content, performance media and programmatic buying
- Work with several departments and stakeholders to deliver leading solutions for partners
- Deliver strategically and creatively led solutions to clients showcasing deep knowledge of their business
- Work closely with the Powered team to deliver new and relevant opportunities for brands
- Facilitate the sale of program sponsorships, sports sponsorships and spot packages
- Maintain client and account lists
- Commitment to the team's purpose and effectively contribute and share skills/knowledge
- Proactive in discussing solutions and raising ideas for improvement
- Proven media experience, preferably within Sales or Digital
- Excellent communication, relationship and account management skills
- Proven ability of delivering revenue success and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills, ability to understand revenue trends and use data to influence sales strategy
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Good understanding of the digital media landscape
- Strong presentation skills

Job Description
As a Sales Executive for Nine in Publishing, you will be responsible for campaigns and deal sales across Australia's #1 Metro Mastheads, the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, as well as Australia's national Business Masthead, The Australian Financial Review. In addition to our Mastheads, Publishing Sales Executives are responsible for sales across the Nine.com.au portfolio, which includes 9News, 9Honey, Wide World Of Sports and more.
You will work within a fast-paced, high-performing and energetic sales team who push boundaries and lead the way!
Day to day you will:
- Effectively manage a pipeline of briefs and proactive ideas to meet and exceed revenue targets, whilst accurately forecasting revenue to the business
- Communicate product value in order to educate clients and deliver on product sales
- Maintain a strong knowledge of online video and display, native content, performance media and programmatic buying
- Work with several departments and stakeholders to deliver leading solutions for your partners

Qualifications
You will be a solid team player, who shows commitment to the team's purpose and effectively contributes and shares skills/knowledge with others. You’ll have an ability to absorb information and act accordingly.
You will be proactive in discussing solutions and raising ideas for improvement in a positive and professional way, allowing you to build strong relationships.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven media experience, preferably within Sales or Digital (essential)
- Excellent communication, relationship and account management skills
- Proven ability of delivering revenue success and forecasting
- Strong analytical skills, ability to understand revenue trends and use data to influence sales strategy
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Good understanding of the digital media landscape
- Strong presentation skills. Ability to build presentations from scratch and present to all sizes of groups
- Good understanding of the programmatic landscape and how to influence programmatic revenue (not essential)
