Job Description

The Privacy & Law Enforcement Team at Apple seeks an Engineering Program Manager to manage and respond to legal requests from law enforcement agencies globally. This role involves owning the roadmap and implementation of technical solutions, including a web portal, used by legal professionals. Responsibilities include managing IS&T project requests, facilitating status calls, driving cross-functional system projects, conducting requirements sessions, ensuring user acceptance testing, and overseeing contractors for software development and support.

Must Have:
  • Own relationship between Law Enforcement business and internal IS&T engineering resources.
  • Manage annual IS&T project requests and facilitate weekly status calls.
  • Drive cross-functional system projects from ideation to completion, ensuring requirements are met.
  • Conduct requirements sessions with legal specialists and ensure design/UI specs are approved.
  • Ensure user acceptance test plans, scripts, communication, and training prior to rollout.
  • Drive adoption of new software products and facilitate resolution of production issues.
  • Coordinate all facets of new system releases, including UAT and documentation.
  • Oversee multiple contractors for requirements writing, UAT, and daily support.
  • Familiarity with HTML, XML, JavaScript.
  • 5+ years experience writing business requirements for various solutions.
  • Knowledge of task management solutions like ServiceNow, JIRA, Wrike.
  • Awareness of multiple API technologies including JSON, ProtoBuf, REST, RPC, XML.
  • Proficiency in software development life cycles and reporting tools such as Business Objects and Tableau.
  • MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

The Privacy & Law Enforcement Team is a team of dedicated professionals within Apple’s legal department who manage and respond to all legal requests received from law enforcement agencies globally, including subpoenas, court orders and search warrants. The team also responds to emergency requests globally on a 24/7 basis. The Systems Manager will be responsible for the roadmap and implementation of all of the technical solutions used by these professionals to respond to law enforcement requests, including the a web portal for law enforcement agencies.

Own the relationship between the Law Enforcement business team and internal IS&T engineering resources. Complete the annual process for socializing and submitting IS&T project requests on behalf of Law Enforcement business team. Manage and facilitate weekly status calls with key business stakeholders and IS&T. Produce and publish weekly status documentation to all stakeholders. Own and drive cross-functional system projects from ideation to completion, ensure each project is completed on time, in scope, with business requirements delivered. Conduct requirements sessions with legal specialists, ensure design and UI specs are approved before software is developed. Ensure user acceptance test plans and scripts and provide end-user communication and training prior to rollout. Drive the adoption of new or enhanced software products/tools to manage the processing of law enforcement requests. Facilitate the resolution of production and performance issues of software products including web portal - communicate with users, coordinate troubleshooting efforts among teams where needed. Coordinate all facets of new system releases including user acceptance testing, training, and system user documentation. Oversee multiple contractors who are assigned to: requirements writing, UAT plans and scripts creation, and general daily support to legal specialists.

  • Familiarity with HTML, XML, JavaScript.
  • 5+ years experience writing business requirements for a variety of solutions.
  • Knowledge of task management solutions (ServiceNow, JIRA, Wrike, etc.).
  • Awareness of multiple API technologies (JSON, ProtoBuf, REST, RPC, XML, etc.).
  • Proficiency in software development life cycles and reporting tools such as Business Objects and Tableau.
  • MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering.
