TransPerfect Games is seeking English into German gaming translators and proofreaders for fixed-term contract localization projects in Tokyo. The role involves translating various game genres, from indie to AAA titles, ensuring a high-quality gaming experience for German players. Candidates must have native-level German, strong English, a passion for gaming, and at least 2 years of gaming localization experience, particularly in Adventure, Strategy, and Fantasy games. Proficiency in CAT tools, especially memoQ, and excellent linguistic skills are essential. This is an onsite position requiring the right to work in Tokyo and daily office presence.

Must Have:

Native-level German proficiency
Strong English command
Deep passion for gaming and familiarity with gaming terminology
Minimum 2 years of English to German gaming localization experience
Expertise in Adventure, Strategy, and Fantasy games
Proficiency in CAT tools (preferably memoQ)
Detail-oriented with excellent grammar, spelling, and terminology skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, creative environment
Right to work in Tokyo
Ability to work onsite during core business hours (Mon – Fri, 8 hours per day) at the office in Tokyo
Based in the Tokyo area or within commuting distance to the office
Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
Willingness to complete a translation test
Meet one of the following minimum requirements: Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies; OR 2+ years of translation experience + a college degree; OR 5+ years of translation experience; OR a translation certification issued by an appropriate government body
