Job Description

This role involves helping leading companies originate, create, execute, and realize value from deals through data-driven insights. As a Corporate Finance Associate, you will be part of a team solving business issues, delivering high-quality client service, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Good To Have:
  • Relevant work experience– accounting firm, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or commercial banking would be an asset
  • Completion or progression toward an accounting or finance designation (CPA, CBV, CFA, MSc or MBA) would be an asset
  • Proficiency in Capital IQ as an asset
Must Have:
  • Play an essential role as part of a team working on a particular transaction (sale, merger and acquisition (M&A) and financing)
  • Supporting the team in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients
  • Conducting thorough research on companies and industries
  • Obtaining needed information from available client data and conducting appropriate financial analysis
  • Assisting in the preparation of internal and external marketing materials (teaser, confidential information memorandum (CIM), management presentation, etc.)
  • Preparing financial models to support analysis in proposals and transaction documentation
  • Identifying key strategic & financial buyers/investors
  • Managing the transaction’s status reports
  • Coordinating a transaction’s due diligence process all the way to close
  • The candidate will be required to work extended hours
  • Fluency in English, in addition to French
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Corporate Finance and/or Commerce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Comprehensive financial and accounting skills and understanding of financial modelling and valuation methodologies
  • A keen interest in M&A including but not limited to a basic knowledge of the standard M&A process and an understanding of key local investors
  • Eager to participate in business development opportunities and initiatives

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Corporate Finance and/or Commerce
