Must Have

  • Troubleshoot and proactively service to minimize downtime.
  • Provide emergency maintenance and on-site technical support.
  • Support product demonstrations and help customers integrate Topcon solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Manage service schedule and spare parts inventory efficiently.

Good to Have

  • Proficiency in another Nordic language
  • Further education in IT or optical engineering
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (ISO, MDR)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team in Norway or Finland – a key role ensuring the reliability and performance of our optical and ophthalmic equipment across hospitals, clinics, and optician practices.

What You’ll Do

As a Service Technician / Field Service Engineer, you will be on the front line of our customer operations – installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing advanced optical and ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. You will provide technical support both on-site and remotely, ensuring our devices perform at their best and deliver accurate results to eye care professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of diagnostic and clinical instruments.
  • Troubleshooting and proactive servicing to minimize downtime.
  • Providing emergency maintenance and on-site technical support.
  • Supporting product demonstrations and helping customers integrate Topcon solutions into their workflows.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Managing your own service schedule and spare parts inventory efficiently while representing Topcon with professionalism and care.

Qualifications

  • A technical or vocational qualification in Electronics, Biomedical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support – ideally within medical devices, optical systems, or precision instruments.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems, software integration, and networking (Windows, SQL, network protocols).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, circuit diagrams, and service documentation.
  • Experience using service management systems (e.g., SAP or similar).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in another Nordic language is an advantage.
  • Further education in IT or optical engineering and familiarity with regulatory standards (ISO, MDR) will be considered beneficial.
