PayPay, a fintech company that surpassed 70 million users in just about 7 years since its service launch in 2018, is currently composed of diverse members from over 50 countries and regions. Although the number of employees already exceeds several thousand, the company is still in its growth phase and is "incomplete." In providing "PayPay," we collaborate with Paytm, India's largest payment service provider, leveraging their customer-centric technology to build and expand smartphone payments in Japan.
Our biggest rival is "cash." We are looking for colleagues who are passionate about tackling this difficult challenge positively, refining our products at an overwhelming speed that no other company can imitate, and professionally promoting the widespread adoption of cashless payments in Japan and its use as a financial life platform. We seek individuals who can proactively identify challenges, collaborate with others, and jointly drive the creation of new value.
This team is responsible for strategic planning and execution to evolve PayPay from a payment app into a financial super app, aiming to achieve the company-wide mission of making PayPay the No. 1 Fintech company. The team's vision is to transform PayPay into a new smartphone-centric financial super app, where everything related to money can be managed through PayPay, not just payments.
For this position, you will be seconded to PayPay Bank and are expected to be assigned to a team that aims to make PayPay Bank the No. 1 retail bank through synergies with group companies including PayPay.
On April 11, 2025, PayPay made PayPay Bank a consolidated subsidiary. While we have already promoted service collaborations such as transfers and ATM transactions on the PayPay app, by making it a consolidated subsidiary, we aim to accelerate decision-making speed for both companies and continue to provide high-value services to users at an overwhelming pace. We are looking for colleagues to achieve this.
You will lead the development and growth of high-value services that can only be realized within the PayPay Group through synergies with group companies such as PayPay, PayPay Securities, PayPay Card, and PayPay Insurance. Within the bank, you will communicate directly with each business unit head, participating in project management, including rapid decision-making.
The opportunity to work in a phase where a group with a customer base of tens of millions/millions of companies is seriously expanding into the banking business is rare in Japan. Furthermore, while competitors have already built financial ecosystems leveraging their strengths, our company is still just beginning to build ours. The appeal of this position is the chance to be involved in building a new financial ecosystem starting from PayPay as a payment app.
