Job Description

The Control Development (Accounting) team, established in 2025 within the Finance Control Department, focuses on building and strengthening internal controls from the Accounting Division's perspective. This aims to balance PayPay's rapid business growth with robust control establishment. Key responsibilities include constructing and reviewing business flows, creating documentation for accounting processes, financial reporting, new service launches, and system modifications. The role also involves responding to internal control and internal audits. This position offers opportunities to engage in diverse accounting and internal control tasks, contribute to a large-scale Fintech service, participate in IPO initiatives, and experience a fast-paced venture environment while working closely with management.
Must have:
  • Construct and review business flows, create business process descriptions, flowcharts, risk control matrices for accounting processes.
  • Manage financial closing and reporting processes.
  • Handle new service launches and system modifications.
  • Respond to internal control audits (evaluation procedures by Internal Control Department and audit firms).
  • Respond to internal audits.
Good to have:
  • Experience in business process efficiency and systematization
  • Experience leading accounting-related projects as a central figure
  • Experience in accounting system implementation and requirements definition for accounting-related systems
  • Holder of Nissho Boki Level 1 or Certified Public Accountant qualification
  • Holder of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Qualified Internal Auditor (QIA)
  • Holder of System Audit Engineer or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Experience in internal control audits (US-SOX compliance experience is a plus)
  • Business level English proficiency / Experience working with foreign nationals

About the Work

Position Introduction

The Control Development Team within the Finance Control Department, where you are expected to be assigned, is a newly established team in 2025. The team consists of 4 members, including the team leader. Unlike positions that evaluate internal controls, this team focuses on building and strengthening internal controls from the perspective of the Accounting Division, aiming to balance PayPay's accelerated business growth with robust control establishment.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Mainly in the following situations, construction and review of business flows, creation of business process descriptions, flowcharts, risk control matrices, etc.:
  • Accounting-related business processes
  • Financial closing and reporting processes
  • Launch of new services, system modifications, etc.
  • Response to internal control audits (internal control evaluation procedures conducted by the Internal Control Department and response to audit firms)
  • Response to internal audits

Required Experience/Skills

Applicable to those who meet either of the following:

  • Over 3 years of experience in accounting and internal control for listed companies.
  • Over 3 years of experience in accounting audit and internal control audit at an audit firm.

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Experience in business process efficiency and systematization.
  • Experience leading accounting-related projects as a central figure.
  • Experience in accounting system implementation and requirements definition for accounting-related systems.

Work Location

  • Hybrid Workstyle (office, home, or satellite office for remote work)
  • For this position, it is necessary to reside in the Tokyo metropolitan area where commuting to the Tokyo head office is possible.
  • Use of satellite offices is subject to the rules of the assigned department.

Working Hours

  • Super Flex System (no core time)
  • Principle: 9:00 AM - 5:45 PM (7 hours 45 minutes actual work + 1 hour break)

Holidays

  • Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and company-designated days.

Leave (Statutory Leave and Company Benefits)

Salary

  • Special bonus (incentive) paid once a year based on company performance and individual contribution.
  • Overtime work allowance, late-night work allowance available.
  • Regarding salary payment, a portion can be received via PayPay account (supports digital salary payment).
