Job Summary

As a Firmware Integration & Automation Engineer in NVIDIA's Silicon Solution Group (SSG), you will be crucial in chip/product bring-up and validation. This role involves developing and maintaining prototype FPGA/MCU firmware for silicon feature qualification, driving requirements for emulation platform features, and designing automated validation frameworks. You will implement continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines, improve automation processes, identify debug infrastructure needs, and analyze test automation failures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve hardware and firmware issues.

Must Have

  • Develop and maintain prototype FPGA/MCU Firmware of reference board to facilitate silicon feature qualification.
  • Drive requirements for emulation platform features that enable efficient validation workflows.
  • Design automated validation frameworks for validation tools/test cases running on FPGA emulation environments.
  • Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines for automated validation.
  • Implement process improvements to accelerate automation and increase verification efficiency.
  • Identify and communicate debug infrastructure needs (visibility, controllability, trace capabilities).
  • Analyze test automation failures, debug firmware and hardware issues using emulation tools and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with multi-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • 6 years+ experience in firmware development and pre-silicon validation.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar languages.
  • Experience with FPGA emulation platforms (Palladium, Veloce, Zebu, or similar).
  • Knowledge of hardware/software interfaces and protocols.
  • Knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL).

Good to Have

  • Good system validation knowledge, including CPU, memory, GPU, PCIE, and thermal/power control.
  • Background in SoC or processor validation.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.

What you’ll be doing

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 6 years+ experience in firmware development and pre-silicon validation
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar languages
  • Experience with FPGA emulation platforms (Palladium, Veloce, Zebu, or similar)
  • Knowledge of hardware/software interfaces and protocols
  • Knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL)
  • Good communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem-solving, good time management, and task prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
