Job Summary
Join Gravity Media as a Fleet Compliance Manager to ensure legal and operational excellence across the UK vehicle fleet. This role involves managing day-to-day compliance of UK drivers, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and meeting all legislative requirements. You will advise the business on areas of concern, suggest changes, and identify opportunities for continual improvement within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Must Have
- Accountable for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle fleet in full compliance with legislation, policy, procedure, practice and documentation
- Liaise on internal and external compliance reviews and deliver recommendations
- Lead on compliance audits & monitoring, records, risk assurance, management of Operators Licences and monitoring of OCRS scores
- Ensure Vehicle Operator License conditions are upheld and inform the business of risks
- Update and improve the Fleet policy to ensure strict adherence to safety, maintenance, process and procedures
- Work with stakeholders to implement and monitor positive driver behaviour and compliance systems
- Escalate urgent or serious issues, complaints to senior management
- Conduct fleet risk management reviews and implement risk control recommendations
- Ensure daily walk around checks are completed and recorded accurately
- Carry out random gate checks for driver compliance with daily walkaround checks
- Assist Rigging & Logistics team members to ensure required drivers hours and schedules are compliant
- Provide support & guidance to managers and other compliance liaisons
- Assist with route planning and schedules (EC Declarations) on request
- Carry out Operating Centre inspections
- Liaise with the Fleet Manager to identify driver reportable defects and take action
- Carry out random and routine drug and alcohol testing for all drivers

ABOUT THE ROLE
A BRIEF SUMMARY
As Fleet Compliance Manager you will manage the day-to-day compliance of the UK drivers, ensuring all legal compliance is accurately recorded and up to date whilst meeting all legislative requirements. Being a key member of the Fleet team, you will advise the business, via the SLT, on areas of concern, suggest changes and opportunities for continual improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

- Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the fleet of vehicles in full compliance with existing legislation, agreed policy, procedure, practice and documentation whilst highlighting areas for improvement.
- Liaise on internal and external compliance reviews and deliver recommendations in line with legislative and best practice whilst ensuring that corrective actions are taken within agreed timescales.
- Lead on compliance audits & monitoring, records, risk assurance, management of Operators Licences and monitoring of OCRS scores.
- Ensure that Vehicle Operator License conditions are upheld and that the business is kept informed of any risks to maintaining them, including any prohibitions, tachograph infringements and maintenance requirements.
- Update and improve the Fleet policy to ensure strict adherence to safety, maintenance, process and procedures are followed.
- Work with key stakeholders and compliance liaisons to implement and monitor positive driver behaviour and compliance systems whilst maintaining oversight of drivers’ hours, walk around checks and defect reporting
- Escalate any urgent or potentially serious issues, complaints etc with immediate effect to the Head of Fleet and other senior management as appropriate.
- Conduct fleet risk management reviews and work with the company Health & Safety Manager to produce and implement practical fleet, engineering and driver risk control recommendations.
- Ensure that daily walk around checks are completed and recorded accurately
- Carry out random gate checks to ensure driver compliance with daily walkaround checks.
- Assist the Rigging & Logistics team members to ensure required drivers hours and schedules are compliant with Law, Policy & Guidance
- Provide support & guidance to managers and other compliance liaisons as required
- On request from the business, assist with route planning and schedules (EC Declarations) in the best interests of both driver and business.
- Carry out Operating Centre inspections.
- Liaise with the Fleet Manager to identify driver reportable defects found on safety inspections and take further action as necessary and appropriate.
- Carry out random and routine drug and alcohol testing for all drivers of company vehicles in accordance with current policy.
With Support from Fleet Admin:
- Ensure all driver cards and VU’s are downloaded in accordance with company policy and DVSA best practice.
- Carry out infringement analysis and action compliance issues as they arise. Carry out initial interview with drivers concerned and escalate further infringements via the driver line management.
- Carry out induction, refresher, remedial and familiarisation training with all drivers in accordance with current policy and best practice.
- Forward recommendations for further action, including disciplinary, to the relevant driver’s line manager in accordance with company policy.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF
- CPC Manager (National / International) Qualification.
- Transport compliance background/experience.
- Credible communicator whilst being comfortable influencing senior managers.
- Focuses on continual improvement, challenges the status quo and leads discussions.
- Work collaboratively with other stakeholders such as operations, engineering and drivers.
- Proficient IT skills across common office programs along with telematics and compliance systems.
- Hold a full UK driving licence
