Job Summary

Safeguard our platform by proactively detecting, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent activity across payments and user interactions. Continuously monitor accounts and transactions, refine fraud detection systems, and develop strategies to stay ahead of fraudsters. Reduce chargebacks, improve payment success rates, and protect the business, while coaching junior team members and collaborating across departments to strengthen the fraud and payments framework.

Must Have

  • Proactively monitor and review accounts, registrations, payments, and transactions for suspicious activity.
  • Investigate and identify suspicious transactions.
  • Evaluate and improve fraud detection systems (SEON).
  • Reduce chargeback rate and improve customer dispute outcomes.
  • Analyse data to identify fraud patterns and payment anomalies.
  • Develop and optimise fraud and payment risk prevention strategies.
  • Conduct KYC checks.
  • Coach and train junior team members.

  • Handle escalations from customer support.
  • 2+ years of fraud analysis and/or payments risk experience.
  • Experience with fraud detection software (SEON) and payment service providers.

Job description

You will safeguard our platform by proactively detecting, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent activity across payments and user interactions. You will continuously monitor accounts and transactions, refine fraud detection systems, and develop strategies to stay ahead of fraudsters while ensuring a seamless and fair customer payment experience. Your efforts will directly reduce chargebacks, improve payment success rates, and protect our business, while coaching junior team members and collaborating across departments to strengthen our fraud and payments framework.

You will be working on:

What You’ll Do:

  • Proactively monitor and review accounts, registrations, payments, and transactions for suspicious activity.
  • Investigate and identify suspicious transactions alerted by fraud tools, payment providers, the CS team, or other sources.
  • Evaluate the success of fraud detection systems (SEON) and payment flows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor SEON performance, amending and creating new Custom rules to prevent fraudulent activity from known fraud rings without negatively impacting genuine users.
  • Reduce chargeback rate by identifying fraudulent behaviour at an early stage, assisting with chargeback representation, and improving customer dispute outcomes, reporting fraud cases when needed.
  • Analyse large amounts of data to identify fraud patterns, payment anomalies, and user friction points.
  • Develop and optimise fraud and payment risk prevention strategies.
  • Conduct KYC checks and review high-risk and high-value accounts.
  • Create and assist with documentation of internal procedures and policies covering fraud, payments, and customer escalations.
  • Coach and train junior team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payments, CS, Product, Compliance) to enhance fraud prevention and customer experience.
  • Handle escalations from customer support and investigate complex cases with a strong customer-centric mindset, balancing risk and fairness.

Job requirements

Who you are:

  • 2+ years of fraud analysis and/or payments risk experience, preferably in iGaming or fintech.
  • Experience with fraud detection software (SEON) and payment service providers such as Nuvei, Checkout.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of KYC processes, regulatory requirements, and payment dispute workflows.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, comfortable working closely with Customer Support, handling escalations, and making fair, well-judged decisions that protect the business while delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, especially when working with customer support and external payment partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
