Functional Safety Engineering Intern

Your Role

We are seeking a motivated Functional Safety Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience in the application of functional safety principles and methodologies across product development lifecycles and supports in the development of tools and processes used on Functional Safety related projects.

Key job responsibilities for this role include:

• Support in developing Functional Safety processes / templates and documentation relevant for electrical and software development projects
• Support the development of test cases, performing testing, and generating test reports for software tool(s)
• Help teams implement functional safety standards (ISO 26262)
• Participate in safety review meetings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering

Experience & Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field as a second or third year student.
• Basic Programming Knowledge
• Experienced with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice to have:

• Basic understanding of functional safety concepts and principles (ISO26262)
• Coursework related to functional safety, risk assessment, or reliability engineering
• Basic understanding of software development processes
• Experience with requirements management tool(s) (Ex. Polarion)
• Experience with source control management tool (ex. GIT, Plastic SCM) and Static Analysis Tool (ex. Coverity)
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles
