Job Description

Techland seeks a Game Programmer to design and implement gameplay mechanics for their newest games. Responsibilities include creating and prototyping new mechanics/systems, developing existing code, building systems and tools for the team, collaborating with artists and designers, code optimization, and debugging. The ideal candidate possesses strong C++ skills, experience with gameplay mechanics/systems, cross-platform development, and a passion for games. They should also understand FPP/TPP game playability and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Good To Have:

Job Description

Your daily tasks:

Design and implementation of gameplay mechanics in Techland's newest games, in particular:

  • Creating and prototyping new mechanics / systems.
  • Development of an already existing code base.
  • Creating systems and tools for other people on the team.
  • Co–operation with artists and designers.
  • Code optimization and debugging.

Qualifications

  • Very good knowledge of C++.
  • Familiarity with STL and version control systems.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining gameplay mechanics/systems.
  • Cross-platform experience.
  • Authentic passion for games as well as knowledge of the latest titles and trends, especially in FPP games.
  • Understanding of rules and problems connected with playability in FPP/TPP games.
  • Very good organization and time management skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Very good command of English.

Nice to have:

  • Computer science education.
  • Knowledge of commercial game engines such as Unreal Engine and / or Unity.
  • At least one shipped AAA title developed from start to finish.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of AI systems.
