Job Description

Room 8 Group is looking for an experienced Gameplay Programmer with a focus on animation and ability systems. The role involves developing code for multiple platforms (console, PC), prototyping game solutions, producing clean and maintainable code, and collaborating with designers and programmers. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, excellent knowledge of its gameplay framework, and strong skills in animation systems, C++, and Blueprints.

Good To Have:

Experience with input prediction systems
Understanding of motion graph and/or motion matching
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Experience in the creation of technical documentation

Must Have:

A proven experience in game development
5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4/5
Excellent knowledge of UE’s gameplay framework
Skillset in animation system (ALS-like or custom animation systems, Animation Blueprint, C++ anim instance, motion warpings, IK/FK, animation retargeting systems, animation modifiers)
Good coding skills in C++, Blueprints, and traditional game-related languages
Ability to optimize and debug gameplay code
Ability to create code that is easy to understand and maintain

We are looking for an experienced Gameplay programmer focused on animation and ability systems with passion to learn new technologies and bring unique expertise to increase our professional level in internal and external projects.

Superpowers you have:

A proven experience in game development
5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4/5
Excellent knowledge of UE’s gameplay framework
The main expected skillset is in the animation system. ALS-like or custom animation systems, experience with the Animation Blueprint and C++ anim instance, experience in motion warpings, IK/FK, animation retargeting systems, animation modifiers, and any related experience is appreciated
Experience working on a multiplayer project is an advantage
Good coding skills in C++, Blueprints, and traditional game-related languages
Ability to optimize and debug gameplay code
Ability to create code that is easy to understand and maintain
