This role seeks a data engineer passionate about optical sensors, health sensing features, data pipelines, infrastructure, and software development. Responsibilities include developing system models, creating tools for data consumption and quality analysis, root-causing outliers, and building tools to streamline data analysis with DL/ML algorithms. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges in sensors, algorithms, and user behavior, playing a key role in quantifying hardware performance for optical sensing features.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with unit test development.
  • Collaborative and willing to work in cross-functional fast-paced technology development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
Must Have:
  • Solicit and consolidate requirements from sensor engineers for algorithm evaluation, behavioral modeling, data quality analyses, outlier analyses, and factory data analysis tools.
  • Develop and maintain these tools/codebases/pipelines and consolidate common blocks.
  • Manage and analyze data from user studies to identify key behaviors and establish relevant dependencies.
  • Produce / present meaningful data visualizations to the team.
  • Evaluate the impact of design choices on engineering metrics; propose trade-offs; and communicate the results and insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain simulation code with best software engineering practices, optimize and refactor codebase when necessary for performance and readability.
  • Use developed code to predict system/user performance across a range of operating conditions including HW/FW settings, user physiology, ambient conditions, etc.
  • Experience writing, debugging, and maintaining computer simulation code with strong software development skills, with proficiency in Python.
  • Experience developing data analytics systems for early-stage projects to help team learn about unknown dependencies.
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
