Job Description

This role involves managing a unit of 140 people, including 10 direct reports, at Thales' Brest site. The Industrial Manager will oversee annual repair production, spare parts, and retrofit operations, ensuring quality, cost, and deadline objectives are met. Key responsibilities include leading performance reviews, managing budgets, developing industrial policy, and contributing to strategic projects, all within a demanding technical environment focused on maritime patrol, surveillance, electronic warfare, sonar, and airborne anti-submarine systems.
Must Have:
  • Manage a unit of 140 people, including 10 direct reports.
  • Supervise annual production of repairs (1700 equipment), spare parts (~€5M), and retrofit operations.
  • Guarantee quality, cost, and deadline objectives.
  • Lead performance reviews.
  • Validate and apply IT system security policy.
  • Define and manage budgets, especially productivity and P&L industrial delegated costs.
  • Adjust load and capacity, and develop team versatility.
  • Build long-term industrial policy with industrial architects.
  • Lead or contribute to structuring industrial projects.
  • Managerial experience in a demanding technical environment.
  • Solid experience in industrial management (Production and Production Manager).
  • Expertise in methods, flows, lean manufacturing, planning, technical support.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (Power BI, AI, XL).
  • Knowledge of Electronics.
  • Strong leadership, synthesis, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop teams.

Your daily life

The Brest site houses our digital services activities as well as Thales' expertise in development, integration, and maintenance for maritime patrol and surveillance systems, electronic warfare, sonar systems, and airborne anti-submarine warfare, as well as our digital services activities.

You will be in charge of: 4 lines of spare parts and Retrofit repairs, the Process Engineering teams (methods, line support, and quotes) as well as industrial architects and Information Systems Security. (approximately 140 employees)

You will join the Industry Services Management Committee (CODIR) (450 people across 4 sites).

Your missions:

  • Manage the daily operations of a unit of 140 people, including 10 in direct management
  • Supervise the annual production of repairs (1700 equipment), spare parts (~€5M), and retrofit operations
  • Guarantee the achievement of quality objectives (physical and documentary), costs (mastery of fixed prices and competitiveness), and deadlines (respect of deadlines, medium and long-term resource planning)
  • Lead performance reviews to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Validate and apply the security policy for IT resources within the scope
  • Define and manage budgets, particularly productivity and costs related to the delegated industrial P&L
  • Adjust load and capacity, and develop team versatility
  • Build the long-term industrial policy in collaboration with industrial architects
  • Lead or contribute to structuring projects for the services industry (ranges, scheduling, industrial performance, process simplification, Make or Buy analysis)
  • Actively participate in the "Thales Toward 2030" strategy around the axes: Grow, Deliver, Lead, Protect

Your profile

Do you know how to manage large teams in a demanding technical environment, including managing managers and leading multi-trade teams?

Are you recognized for your strong sense of leadership?

With an engineering degree or equivalent, you have solid experience in:

  • Industrial management (Production and Production Manager).
  • Methods, flows, lean manufacturing, planning, technical support.
  • Digital tools (Power BI, AI, XL…).
  • Electronics.
